Hey Randall!

congrats on buying the Delve, it's really a great phone.

unfortunately, no, there is no way to turn off the ascending ring tone. i'm sorry you percieve this as an annoyance, but the design of this feature really did have yo in mind. all phones ring out of two speakers, the main speaker, which is the one you hear, and also the earpiece speaker, which you hear other people's voices. the reason behind mandatory ascending ringtones in newer phones is this....if you are talking on the phone and the call is disconnected for some reason, you may not realize it. therefore you still may have the phone to your ear when the person you were talking to calls you back. if your ringer volume is set to high, the ringtone being played through the earpiece speaker will be very loud into your ear, possibly damaging your ear drum and scaring the bejeebus out of you. this feature of the phone gives you a gentle reminder that the call was lost, and they are attempting to call you back.

if you have any more issues with the phone, feel free to post them, i'll try to assist you the best i can.
