Safely Remove Hardware???

My wife and I both have new ZINE's and I am having all kinds of problems getting them to interface smoothly with my PC. The most irritating is that I'm able to plug each one in, download the pictures no problem, but I do not get a 'remove hardware' icon in the quick launch bar. This problem is typical on BOTH phones. I've simply resorted to shutting the computer down and then unplugging the phone, hoping this doesn't screw them up.

Does anyone have any guesses where I might be going wrong?

I have the same problem. I looked all over the place for that little icon, and couldn't find it. Finally, I just figured I'd go for it and unplug the device without shutting anything down. All my pictures were safely saved on the computer, and there was no data being sent to or from the device, so I figured it would be "Safe". So far, I've done it several times without problems on either the phone, or PC. While I'm not saying this is the proper way to do it, or if it is indeed even safe, I haven't yet encountered any problem. Now that I know someone else is experiencing this, I'll look a little deeper into it to see if I can find a solution.

I have the same issue and went through the same steps. I have come to the conclusion that it is hot swappable and needs no intervention, just unplug and your good. Be sure all transfers have stopped first of coarse 🙂
