i really like the phone but the battery is the worst i have ever seen on a flip phone.

its even worse then my pda that i had with t-mobile. the mda phone. i had to get a big battery to extend the life of that phone and there isnt a battery for this one with a longer life.

i turned down the brightness but cant figure out how to turn off the gps.. any suggestions?

To turn off gps go to entertainment then location services scroll down to settings then down to disable gps. It helps a little. Hope this helps ya.

GPS shouldn't be draining the battery unless you are using a GPS-enabled app a lot. The satellite icon will appear when that's active.

Bluetooth will also use up the battery quickly, as will constant web-browsing, especially running YouTube as that hits the the radio and the CPU pretty heavy.

That said, this phone does have a sub-par battery life. I too bumped down my screen brightness (to 60%) and still have to be aware when I've been talking more than normal. At least the kit from CostCo incl. a car charger.

I think some kind of location program was running when I looked at the list of running programs. Push the button under the send key, then press left to get to the list of applications. I was only playing with it at a t-mobile store, so I can't remember for sure.
