Storm, IPhone 3G or Omnia, that is the question.......

Ok People, I played with an IPhone 3G at the ATT store in New Brunswick, NJ for about an hour. I must say that I was VERY impressed. The internet browser is second to none! The call quality was crystal clear. I do understand that I was in the store and not out on the dock at the summer home in Pt. Pleasant. The camera doesn't have a flash, but that is minor. The touch screen is great.

The Storm was good, but not great. The browser is good, but not quite like IPhone. The video screen was awesome to say the least. It looks like HD on a phone. I didn't care for the push typing though. I like the touch of the IPhone.

I will test the Omnia, before making a final decision.

Right now, the IPhone is in the lead. I would hate to leave VZW ...

The iPhone is by far the most advanced and user friendly of the three devices. It is sooo much more stable than the Storm and does most things better than the omnia (with the possible exception of voice calls).

I have owned most every smart phone on the market and so far the iPhone puts them all to shame in web browsing, video playback, youtube playback, music playback, HTML e-mail rendering, etc.

Other than a crappy camera, a lack of voice dialing, and no MMS (which I find useless anyway since it has e-mal) the iPhone is as close to perfect as it gets.

Oh, and I actually own one. I did not just create an account a few days after the Storm came out so I could talk down the competition.

Thank you Playboy, you have been very helpful! My concern is ATT 3G and voice coverage being adequate. VZW has been great. I am reluctant to switch.

I have both, and to be honest, I have found myself with no Verizon coverage as often if not more often than I found myself with no AT&T. T-Mobile is the only one I have ever had real problems with in the past as far as reception goes.

PS: The map Verizon shows as coverage is BS. Both my father-n-law's house and my mom's house are lit up bright red as having full coverage and my Verizon phones do not work in either place. In fact you have to drive 5 miles from my mom's and almosr 20 miles from my father-n-law's to get coverage.

I can't say anything to the Omnia since I have never played with it. I just know that you shouldn't get the Storm. I have had a lot of people saying that it is really slow (internet as well as the phone itself) and that it has a bunch of glitches. There were ppl who returned the Storm within the same day. So definitely not the storm!

i own the omnia at this moment. i ported my number to att last night and got the black iphone 3g 16gb refurb. but anyway i HATE the omnia. first off there is only a few apps for it very little games and it always acts up. sometimes you have to pull the batt to get it to work again. the camera is nice 5 mega pix with flash but all in all its a big pos! if you want to set a pic you took as your background forget it. i tried to change the size and still it cuts them in half or makes two of them. there is no real ringtones for it. you can install vz app manager but there all generic. this phone issooooooooo not worth it.

omnia is ok, not comparable to storm or iphone. iphone is fun and nice, but not for business. storm is nice, heavy, and still has issues.

the iphone had issues at release too, although not at many as the storm.

t-mobile the only network u havent had problems with? please. i have never been in an area where t-mobile worked good. (ft myers, tampa, orlando, and in between). but none are perfect.

in my honest opinion, the screen on the storm is more crisp then the iphone, and the videos are a lil brighter. its only second to maybe the htc hd, and the new touch diamond/pro in clarity. my friends have iphones/ itouches and they are really nice. im not saying they arent very nice. im not a hater. in my area vzw is #1 so i have a storm. att...

I have an iphone 3g. Its not as great as everyone makes it. It does do wonders with the web. When it works. I am constantly reading something on the web only for it to suddenly shutdown. Other then that web, there are other phones out there that are close or even better then the iphone is. The camera is horrible, there is no mms, no cut and paste, and the virtual keyboard doesn't respond well. You hit one letter and get another. Also I had to restore my phone more times then I can count.

Everyone puts down the Storm, but its BB first attempt at a touchscreen. Plus the issues that some people had where solved with a software update. The fact that its heavy and a little thick is a problem though. My and I both had the iphone and th...
