This is exactly what turns people off when talking to or about an apple product.

Fanaticism.

Both sides are guilty but it looks strained and desperate coming from a non-apple supporter, as opposed to pretentious and elitist.

I own a few Apple products. I believe
their laptops are superior, but just because I like their products doesn't mean I'll support them. They're ripping people off when it comes to this phone. The darn phone doesn't even have video. Now that the sidekick LX has video it makes the Iphone look bad.

Shenanigans it is. By the way, can you do voice and data at the same time with CDMA????NO! Look at what we do on a daily basis. We talk our ears off on the phone and surf the freeking internet all day, much like what I am doing while I am typing this response and what you are doing reading it. I like to be able to talk and surf the internet at the same time. This is why GSM is where its at. By the way, both VZW and ATT have announced LTE as their 4G technology of choice. Sprinthead, in case you did not know, LTE is a GSM based technology. I think that Sprint is thinking of once again doing something stupid, like investing all of their money into Wimax. Genius! About 85% of the world uses GSM based technologies and the VZW will be t...

Wack? I think not my friend. With the new 3g and and a butt load of ppl who are writing softwares for the new iphone as i am typing this. I'm sure one of those softwares will be able to let you watch tv, AT&T now just need to have the service for it. Radio? come out of the stone age and get XM, besides, wtf do you think 16g and ipod is for? It has a camera, video recording will be a software update. Remember the RAZR? that didn't come with video recording but my friend was able to add it on, so it's just a software thing. Picturemail? Dude you can attach a picture and email it to any email or phone number via phone#@tmomail.com....ect.

I am on you tube now ( voyager) and anytime someone calls me all I have to do is answer it. So yes you can use data and voice at the same time. Look at the lack of 3G areas with at&t and once again they are blowing smoke up our asses about them employing all those new 3G areas(been waiting . Pretty phone I would have one but the provider sucks! It's not worth the loss of coverage. Get a cheap VZ phone so you can make calls anywhere (Alltel merger whoot) and get an Ipod touch, then you get the best of both worlds. BTW we are getting speeds up to 2.1 mbps on Vz in WNC!!! I guess I am not cool enough to have an iphad touch

Sprint has been losing millions of customers since last year, what makes you think they rock? They offered the "simply everything" package for $99.99 to hopefully get some customers to come back.. Not like they are actually making money off the bundle. Anybody can color a map to look like it has the best coverage (like VZW) wouldn't you rather have the actual truth? AT&T is #1 and have been for a long time and will always be #1. If you want to be second rate stay with a second rate carrier like VZW. If you want to be behind the times with technology stay with VZW. I travel all over the mountain west and have never once dropped a call with my Blackberry 8300 with AT&T but dozens of places I have had coverage when my in-laws with their verizon...

Round 1 Coverage and Call Quality

Read non biased reports. Consumer Reports said that in every major market but one Verizon had the best call quality. Where was AT&T? Not number 1. Ouch your wrong! It must hurt being wrong! If you want to look at native coverage of a carrier. The best way to do this it to look at their broadband network. And the fact remains Verzion's is the most developed of any U.S. carrier.

Winner: Verizon

Round 2 Technology

Can your curve on AT&T do 3G nope just edge you lose again. What about video, nope you lose again. Have you seen the coverage of AT&T 3G it barely exists. You lose again.

Winner: Verizon

Round 3 Customer Service

Look at the facts.. AT&T has the most customers for a reason retard!

Read again idiot!
AT&T has 71 million customers, how many does your company have? 67.2

If your company is so amazing then why do they have less customers?

"Indeed, many of AT&T's customers are satisfied, at least a little. The company's service was rated "fair" by 36% of those who expressed an opinion, "good" by 31% and "excellent" by 7%."

I love these VZW hookers! What is the point of a BB having 3G when the bulk of the users are business users who only use it for email? That being said, the fact that it has taken VZW only a year to get both the pearl and curve is amazing. Usually they are about two years behind. Oh, I forget, they will only be about 5 years behind when they eventually carry the Iphone in 2013. I love the fact that this VZW hooker is trying to talk smack about at&t merging with Cingular to make the biggest company, when they go onto make the point that VZW will be bigger because of the merger with Alltel.
You want facts - Here they are -

Fact - AT&T has more international appeal for travelers then VZW ever will.

Fact - If it is true that VZW pass...

Verizon is still number 1. Better customer service (go see JD Power, better than AT&T), better call quality (go see Consumer Reports), and the best network. Who cares if AT&T gets phones first if they are less advanced and drop calls. So AT&T had the curve for over a year or more before Verizon. The AT&T curve uses Edge data. Many people who buy the curve use it as an all in one multimedia device surfing the web etc. So it is nice to have 3G speeds. Espcecially when downloading videos off the net you tube etc. It also helps for things like slingbox. And I'm glad that Verizon told Apple to take a hike. The I phone is overrated. Lets see. No MMS, no voice activated dialing, no cut and paste, no removable battery, no stereo bluetooth (what was ...

FACTS:

Verizon has the overall best coverage, best data coverage of any major U.S. carrier. And has for sometime now.

Verizon is rated positively in customer service, and as a long-standing Verizon customer I can tell you that their service and policies have vastly improved in the past year. (Probably thanks to iPhone competition.)

Verizon's prices are competitive but at a slight premium.

Verizon's phones SUCK, they're always 1-2 yrs behind.

AT&T does have slightly more customers. But remember, that's because they are the result of a large merger between SBC's "Cingular" and AT&T. If you discount such mergers, Verizon is by far the largest single entity. Though they have purchased some of the smaller wireless companies. They...

It's comical to me how vzw customers purchase a piece of year plus old technology (curve), and Vzw adds a basic feature (video), which most people do not use and vzw customers rejoice.

How does att loose by having EDGE? EDGE data is faster then EVDO @ least in northern va.

Now let's talk about how vzw is choosing to adopt some LTE.which will be comical watching them switch from CDMA to 4G technology.

Wow, ok, so lets go back and review your "facts":

Round 1:
Consumer reports ratings. It amazes me how much stock people put into some of the Consumer Reports ratings, without looking at how they rate and for the length of time they do the survey (2 weeks). I believe that both reports were done in 2007, were they not? AT&T has spent millions on expanding coverage and call quality, as I'm sure all carriers have, so that's an always changing claim. Also, given it's been about 9 months since that report came out, it's probably not a report reference anymore.

Round 2:
You keep harping on the 3G coverage "barely existing". Dude, they have 3G in over 280 markets in the US, and are supposed to expand to 350 by end of year. Wow, so tha...

The only problem with your statement is that you are assuming people would rather send it via MMS rather than email because I have found that many pictures regardless of what phone or service I have had (because I have had 3 different services, and have been through 12 phones since 2005) didn't make it through. But everytime I emailed it to myself or emailed it to someone else using my phone, it went through. Maybe I just have bad luck.

But the downloading music away from wifi is not a deal breaker for me even though I am not really into the iphone, though i must admit that the GPS on this phone is something i wish other companies would do more. Not everyone wants to watch tv on their phone, or listen to radio. I don't, and I know tha...

How many of Sprint's winmo phones allow for MMS? TV and radio would have been nice but since you can get my hands on just about any movie, video, or song via iTunes who really cares? That is the argument so many people leave off. The iTunes store allows you access to one of the best entertainment markets available. And Sprint tv sucks! I have it and there is always lag and choppy videos. The only real tv service out there is Mediaflo which Sprint does not have!

LOL! You are the one who bought up sprint tv. I just countered your argument. And if you have not seen Apple's presentation, this is going to be a phone geared toward businesses so yes it is a PDA and multimedia device. And again winmo phones with Sprint = no MMS support. You cannot dispute that they put a block on the ppcgeeks solution, the fact that this forum with countless others have been pissed, or that there was a petition being passed over the net to send to the higher ups at Sprint about this. This is the main reason I have stayed away from winmo and bb devices on Sprint and just focused on Palm's. The fact of the matter is that this phone is going to sell like hot cakes. 3G data, free AT&T wifi, gps, and a host of 3rd party...

MediaFlo is on Verizon as VCAST TV!!!! I guess you get what you pay for. You could just slingbox your tv. But not with a very small 3G network like AT&T. Unless you don't want it to work anywhere!!!! Or you could get Mobi TV which is where Sprint gets there TV. Sprint TV is 15 frames Verizon is 30 frames. Slingbox is better than any of those anyway.

VCAST TV looks good as does AT&T's version. As far as AT&T's 3G network, they are up and running in every major city here in Texas and everywhere I visit so this would not be a problem for me. Plus they should be about on par with the CDMA carriers by years end or mid 09. I just thought that I would let the Sprint fanboy know that some of the same issues that he has with iPhone are issues that Sprint PDA's have so his argument was dumb.

Everyone bashes Sprint but hey, I've had Sprint for 6 years and haven't had any problems with customer service, billing or with voice coverage. I'm not one of those people that lives way out in the boonies or travels in the mountains but I do travel a lot and I don't have any problems anywhere. I guess it all depends on where you all live. I live in San Diego and travel back and forth from here, LA and Palm Springs and no reception issues. NO carrier is perfect and neither are phone. And for the record, the iPhone 3G is not a whack phone. I think that if it were available with ALL carriers, there would be a lot less iPhone haters out there...

I agree. I work for AT&T and have worked for others (been in the industry for 9 years and counting now). It's amazing how seriously people take their phones. There is no "best network", they all have dead spots, occasional billing issues, they all have their pros and cons. In the end, you get what works for you regardless of whether it's VZW, Tmo, AT&T, whatever. Personally, I own a 2G iPhone and a Curve and love them both. The 3G version is going to be nice, but I'm pretty happy with the one I have. I don't get 3G coverage out here in the sticks, but my browsing experience on the EDGE network is fantastic. Anyway, my point is, I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and count to ten. It's only a phone!!!! 😁

I guess it all depends what you're into at the moment. I'm sure apple will find a way to make an update for those things. I don't really need picture mail b/c i can email it. I don't need video mail b/c I have a camcorder. I don't need TV or radio b/c I have that in my house. It seems as if you want the iPhone to extend an arm and whipe your ass too!
