Store Managers know what there Talking About

Okay so I was told by a Customer Service rep and even sent an E-mail saying that Im eligible for an upgrade in August and sine the iPhone is coming out in July thats like 30 days from my eligibility I should still be able to get the phone at the $299 price. I've even seen it state that on the media release from AT&T. So why would a manager of a store tell me there's no exceptions I have to pay $499?

You would have to wait until August...thats when you're eligible...right?

Yea, we are not taking any exceptions. If your not eligible on the date you want to buy it then you have to pay the early upgrade price which is 399/499.

so why have customer service tell you one thing and than have AT&T do a media release saying depending on account standing this may be over rode?

For one, here in the customer care dept. we are given new information and updates like 3 times a day so someone may have not have updated infor yet. But if it was customer care who told you that you would have to eligible to get that price, then thats correct...as of now. When they say depending on your account standing, we refer to a few other things. You cant have a past due balance and you have to be eligible. Probably what they were reffering to was the fact that the released an early upgrade price of 399/499. Its also up to us whether we believe you should get the early upgrade or not. If your service has been shut off a bunch and things like that, its probably not going to happen. It also depends on where you go to purchase the phone. ...

okay so it would seem that the word "Eligible" was the key word. seeing that I had 30 days to go Im not eligible. Nice drop $200.00 a month on phone bill and they still wanna take for an extra $200.00, and the coverage in Arizona isnt even that great to begin with. thanks for the response.

No problem.
Well we look at as the fact that your still 30 days away, that still doesnt make you eligible. If that were the case it would defeat the purpose of having a contract, obviously.

In 30 days you wont have to drop that extra $200, I would just wait.

This sucks...just checked on-line..two days ago my acct said I was eligible for an upgrade. Today it states I am not.

I have had the iPhone since day 1 but have gotten in and out of it I think twice.

I hope I am not hit with a larger fee for this. I am going to an Apple store and hoping to pay the $199.00.

I wish I knew why my eligibility flipped on the at&t site thought.

This is literally within the last 48 hours.

I changed nothing - 2 days ago is said I was eligible..today I am not.

I am not sure what happened. My bills are paid on time with no outstanding bills.

I am going to Apple to purchase and hopefully I get it for $199.00.

Yeah the president/ceo of at&t said that there is to be absolutely NO EXCEPTION upgrades....wait till august buddy!
