i know this isnt in, but is there any word on when its coming out??? i dont want to waste 300 bucks on it and a better version comes out 2 months later. anybody know anything?

The date that was given by Apple is July 11/08.

Yep. This is it. 3G is a reference to data protocols, not saying that this is the third iphone.
