iPhone Number

I bought the first generation iPhone in Houston but I'm home for the summer. Do you think they'll be able to just simply update my information rather than give me the same number or a number w/Houston area code so I don't have to dial 713 everytime I have to call someone in the same city?

the dialing code has been 10 digits for god know how long.
so even if they change your number you will still have a 10 digit dailing.

But when I'm in Houston w/my phone, I don't have to dial the code. When I'm other places, then of course I do.

In order to respect your response, proper grammar and spelling are a must. Until that happens, "you're" dismissed until you acquire those basic skills. Case closed.

Seriously though, your numbers should be 10 digits in your address book and you can dial an area code. It's not hard. In Oregon ALL numbers must be dialed as 10 digits and I am fine with it.

Thanks, really...all I need is a yes or no. Anybody, everybody. An answer that actually answers the question. Hmmm...a novel concept...brilliant!

ALRIGHT, KIDS!
msumuel, let me explain this to you, since I understand you just want a straight answer. In order to have your number changed (if Im understanding you correctly, thats kinda what you want?) so that you dont have to dial "long distance" numbers, you would have to call us (att) and have your primary place of use changed. Thats kind of a pain if your only living where you are for the summer. Its not worth it, or at least it wouldnt be for me. Its a little bit of a process, especially if your on a family plan or someone is the primary account holder. I'd say just keep it how it is!
Alright, happy Independence Day! 😎

Thank You! All I wanted and needed to know. Sometimes its not about being lazy. Maybe I just don't feel like notifying 500 people about another phone number change. Once again, thanks for the information and happy independence day to you as well!
