I just got the Chocolate 3 two days ago. I don't know if I got a defective phone or not, but it's too loud! If I put it on the lowest volume, it's still louder than the highest volume on my last LG! (This was the LG VX8100). I kept that phone on the lowest volume and it was fine. Everytime my new phone rings, it scares me because it is so loud! Is it me, or my phone? ☚ī¸

Ok, you know what... my alarm is too loud. My phonecall ringtone volume is fine. I'm going to say it's probably a setting somewhere.

My last phone was an LG VX8600, and I'm using the same ringtones and alarm ringtone, too.

Yeah, I guess that is kinda funny, isn't it? 😉

When the 8600 came out there were complaints that the speaker phone wasn't loud enough. So I guess LG took it to heart and fixed it...

My music isn't too loud. My ringtone is. I like to be able to set my ringtone somewhat quiet so that I'm not rude and freak out everybody in the room when it rings. I'm going to Verizon this afternoon to talk to them about this...

So these are the same ringtones transfered from your old phone? mp3 tones?

I remember buying some ringtones that were recorded too loud to begin with.

I've notice my phone ringing isn't loud, but the same ringtone used as my alarm clock is louder than it use to be. So maybe it is an internal setting in the phone.

Hope your visit to Verizon is fruitful...

I went to Verizon yesterday and that's just the way it is. Oh well. The ringtones that are too loud are the ones that came with my phone. If I make ringtones from my computer with my own music, they are really loud too. How can I make songs default quieter on my computer?

if u use a program called audacity to cut your mp3's, there is a little slider bar that lets u turn the decibal (sp?) level down to where it wont be such a loud ringtone....

bitpim also has the mp3 cutting feature but it always ran slow so thats why audacity is better imo....

hope this helps...
