LG Chocolate 3 VX-8560

So, I pick up this phone for my wife. It's sitting on the front seat of the car. I go to walmart and not wanting to leave it sit on the seat, I stick it in my pocket with my other phone. I come back out to the car and I hear some miscellaneous beeping noises coming from my pocket. I take out this phone and it's unlocked. What's up with that? What's the point of a lock that you can undo with the push of one button? That is just so wrong at such an elementary level. Isn't it? Am I missing something?
