I sure do hope that sprint and lg offer an extended battery for this lotus unlike the instinct! I had the instict for about to days. I can't think of anybody that I talked to that liked carrying around 2 batteries!

They could've just not put the 2nd battery in. Either way people will complain. If it was an extended battery people would complain about the size, if it came with one people will complain it doesn't hold enough. It comes with 2 people complain about carrying around a second battery. BOY, BOY what's a company to do?

I had the Instinct for about two and a half months and never had an issue with the battery. Ive seen many customer come in with the phone and complain about the battery saying that it doesnt hold a charge for more than a few hours. Id suggest going to your local Srint service & repair center and see if they will switch out the batteries. The battery included with the phone has a stated continuous talk time of almost six hours, which is far above average, and thats what I got consistently with mine when I had it.

Just thought I'd put that out there.

And as far as battery life goes, I hear more complaints about the 3G iphone battery than anything else and there's no extra battery for that (for obvious reasons).

I had the original B...

This whole battery issue, be it the Instinct, TouchPro, E90,N95 8gb or any phone that does alot, 3g, bt, nice screen, wifi etc... Is odd, we want powerful devices, devices that drain alot of power off the battery. With that, it means they need to be charged far more often then a standard phone. You can't expect it to have the same endurance.

Are you being sarcastic? You really can't expect to talk on the phone, use it as an MP3, watch TV,etc and expect your battery to last all day do you? I'm still wondering when the complainers are going to get tired of complaining and build their own phones. ๐Ÿคจ

Regarding the initial question pertaining to the extended battery availability. I have not seen one offered yet, however, having had this phone for 3 weeks already, I must say that with talk, text, and web surfing, it holds very well. I can get about 2.5/3 days on a charge. Much better than my Moto Q. With that, I would have one phone call send a text, and check my email and thing would be dead.

I WAS NOT BEING SARCASTIC OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT WHEN I STARTED THIS THREAD. I JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO A PHONE JUST TO MAKE PHONE CALLS AND SEND A FEW TEXT MESSAGES WITH GOOD BATTERY LIFE. ITS GREAT THAT TECHNOLOGY IS IMPROVING AND YOU CAN WATCH TV, GET DIRECTIONS, ETC. ON YOUR CELL PHONE, BUT WHAT IS THE USE OF HAVING ALL THOSE EXTRAS IF THE BATTERY LIFE DOESN'T SUPPORT THE PHONES FULL CAPABILITY'S? I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE AVERAGE USER ON TODAY'S CELL PHONES USES FOR MINUTES, BUT I KNOW I USE AROUND 3000 MINUTES AND AROUND 9500 TEXT MESSAGES A MONTH. I AM JUST SIMPLY STATING, THAT IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS TALKER OR TEXTER, AND YOU DON'T MIND THE BULKY OR HEAVINESS OF AN EXTENDED BATTERY, IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE. AND I WOULD LIKE TO S...

If you just talk and text get a simple phone without the TV, Video, Camera. But, if you want all of those features go out and buy the extended battery yourself. If you're that much of a talker 2 seconds to swap the battery isn't too bad. Also, If you're one of those guys that wear skinny jeans just pop the extra battery it in your back pocket. along with your wallet it'll help your wallet look fatter. ๐Ÿ˜

I think it was Samsung back in 2002 that really started this trend with slim batteries that worked like crap but gave users the slim size of the phone people wanted. If I'm not mistaken it was their a500 model that came onto the screen with great reviews about it's size but just got killed on inflated and inaccurate talk time. In fact it was so bad that Samsung started putting coupons for a free extended battery in every box. That phone was huge and no longer sexy when it got that battery.

I hope so too. I do a lot of texting and talking. I have a Helio Ocean and I always have to bring my wall charger with me to work so I can charge my phone midway thru my shift. ๐Ÿคจ

I sent an email to LG and they wrote back and said "we don't make extended batteries."??

I'm wondering if there will be an OEM battery - or a extra charger where I could charge a spare battery.
