Re: vov8500 or the new vox? Neither

You've probably already made your decision, but to anyone else who comes along... the 8500 is very small and cute but doesn't have a color screen. The 'Vox' 8610 is little bigger and does have a color screen. Both are ok phones, not bad, not great.

If I had it to do over (I was on Virgin for awhile, now am on Verizon), I would've gone with the Kyocera V5 slider. All 3 of these phones are under $100 now, so almost anyone can afford them.

And Virgin's a good pay-as-you-go service, probably the best of the lot- just be sure to dump them and go with a 'real' plan and carrier (like Verizon) if you find yourself talking more than 200 minutes a month... if you talk a lot, pay-as-you-go ends up being a bad deal, because of the fairly high per-minute rates.
