They fall apart

We just discontinued selling the Matrix because they come apart sooner or later. Make sure you get the insurance..

There was one batch of the Matrixs' manufactured that had faulty sliders and were recalled; those whose matrixs' had the faulty sliding mech. are able to exchange them via warranty; other than that they are still being sold, and have not had any problems since that one batch.
This is a great phone for the text-savvy.
I would still agree though that insurance is a good idea for this phone, for the dual slider makes it more prone to damage.

I'm holding a Matrix right now, post recall that has broken. I am doing an exchange for the Samsung Propel, a much better phone for the same price. I have never liked Pantech phones due to the high number of defects. It seems like there are always issues with them of one kind or another and they don't seem to last until the next upgrade. If you ask most at&t sales people what they think of Pantech phones they will tell you "junk'.I prefer to sell phones that stay sold and I've always wondered who at at&t is getting kickbacks to sell that crap
