Miko-o! You might want to exchange it for another one. It sounds like something is wrong with the battery. I have the same phone, and I can usually go 2 to 3 days or a little more, depending on how I use it. I mainly talk, not heavy use, text, and browse wallpapers. My backlight is on 15 seconds also. Go to a Verizon store and tell them what's happening. That doesn't sound normal. Good luck. Let me know if they give you a new battery or exchange the whole phone. I don't know if you just got it or have had it a while. 😲

Hey mike-o

Did you take phone back and are you having better luck with the battery? I am having the same trouble. Had an LG that on paper had less battery life that the Adventure. I needed to charge it once/twice a week. Don't even remember when I used my car charger last. I am having to charge the Adventure every night. I am letting the battery go dead before putting it on the charger as suggested by Verizon.

Tropical Island...any suggestions from the expert. Otherwise I love the phone by the way.

Hey mammadillo! It depends on what I do with the phone. Usually I'll get better batter life with normal talking, not excessive. If I browse around for wallpapers through different sites, or go to music page, which for me would be Verizon Wireless Deluxe, and be on there for a while, it tends to drain the battery some. By habit, I usually charge it every other night or so, sometimes several nights in a row, even if it doesn't exactly need it. I was told by a Verizon rep one day, that depending on what you're doing on the phone, different things affect battery life. I usually talk, text, and browse around for wallpapers in different sites. Maybe you could talk to a rep and see if they tell you the same thing. Wouldn't hurt. By the way, glad yo...

Know anything about the extended battery for this?

Since others had complained about battery life - here and on other sites I asked the rep when I bought the phone. He (of course) said he didn't know of any problems and advised the following: Biggest problem with battery life was that folks charge the battery before it runs down. And/or charge for a few minutes then talk for a few then charge... This was especially bad when the battery was new. He said to let the battery run all the way down and then charge it fully the first couple of times. I've done that and I still have to charge nightly. The manual said that some batteries perform best after several full cycles. So I've been trying to give it some time.

I don't...

Hi Mammadillo! I don't know much about the extended battery. Never asked them, maybe I should have. If you keep having problems with battery, by all means take it back or inquire about the extended battery. I too heard that it's best to run the battery down all the way, first time around, but that seems to apply to all phones. But do I do that? No. Maybe I should try it. But I've had my phone I think a little over a month. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but if what they are telling you to do isn't working, then try the extended battery, and see what happens. Good luck and let me know, or if you decide on another phone, let me know which one. Thanks!!

Hey Tropical Island!
I actually didn't have to charge my phone last night. Maybe there's hope! Anyway, I talked to Verizon about the current and extended batteries. Verizon I guess is getting complaints about the battery and has been asking Motorola about it too. Interestingly enough Verizon's stats on the battery are different from Motorola's. Verizon lists the same as this site 3.8 hrs/230 mins talk time and 83hrs/3.5 days standby. Motorola lists: 330 mins/5.5hrs regular talk time & 230 minutes PTT talk time. Standby- 540 hours (22.5 days) but only 83 hours using (PTT). 22days? Seriously? That would be nice! Verizon said the extended battery is about 1600 mAh vs the 1170 mAh in the standard. I asked about how the new battery would fit. S...

Hi Mammadillo! Thanks for the information about the battery, and the difference between Verizon and Motorola. I didn't know that either. Do let me know about the extended battery and how it looks, because I may seriously consider it myself. Thanks so much for the information, I do so appreciate it. How many hours is it for talk time on the extended battery? Let me know, I know you will. If it's not too bulky or ugly, I will probably get the extended one as well. Thanks much and looking forward to hearing from you!! 🙂

Hey! Well, as usual Verizon in person was worthless. I have great luck on the phone. They don't have the battery and new cover in stock. You need to order it. $50, don't know if that includes the cover. They don't know what it looks like, you have to order it. Nothing wrong with the standard battery life..blah blah blah. Anyway, Verizon on the phone said that the extended would be like 1.5 times the standard battery. The exact figures were in the last post. 1100 vs 1600 if my memory serves me, which is questionable! I'm gonna try to stick it out with the standard for a while and maybe down the road after it's been on the market a little longer Verizon in person will get a sample or a training class. Both would be helpful! Maybe you have bett...

Hi mamadillo! Thanks for responding, first and foremost. I know what you mean about the Verizon reps, believe me! Maybe I will call their customer service dept., and see what they say. I really appreciate the info, thanks. And maybe I will go in to a Verizon store also. I am curious now. I need to find out what that $50.00 bucks includes. I never charged it powered on, so I couldn't tell you, sorry. When I charge my phone, I turn it off, and it's says chariging, and when it's done, it will say charge complete. Are you having trouble with that aspect of the phone? I should try and charge it while it's on and see what it says, in fact I will do that now. Just tried that mamadillo, and no it doesn't say anything, but the battery icon flashes, s...

Tropical Island - Verizon on the phone was willing to give me a discount due to the low battery life of my phone. If you are serious you might try that. As for the charging issue. It's no big deal, just a pain. I had a Motorola before my LG and now I remember why I disliked it. Verizon recommended LG when I started looking. They are a little, just minor stuff, more user friendly and definitely had better battery life. Much closer to the numbers LG gives you for usage. But I DO like this phone. I am in the far Northwest corner of the world. North of Seattle. Verizon has the best coverage in this area, hands down. No question on great customer service (on the phone) either.

OH, and didn't your mother teach you not to roll your eyes at peop...

Hey mamadillo! Thanks for the response, and it has been nice swapping info with you also. Yes, I am seriously considering the extended battery, and I will let you know what transpires there. As for LG phones, I agree. I have always liked the lg's even over Motorola. But as you said, I do like this phone. sorry for the rolling eyes. LOL. But I wrote below my last response toyou that I meant that for Verizon, because sometimes they just make me nuts. I do like them though, and they have great coverage almost everywhere. I will let you know about the battery. Take care. 😁
