Ringtones on the Motorola Adventure V750

Any tricks to getting ringtones on the Motorola Adventure V750? I have tried sending tones to my phone using both an e-mail account and VZWPIX. I have tried .midi, .wav, .mp3 etc. My tones get stored in "My Sounds" and not "My Ringtones" in the Media Center on the phone. When entering or editing contacts, the tones in "My Sounds" are not available to be used as a ringtone.
Thanks for any help.

For ring tones just make sure they are under 30 seconds and send to using funformobile.com works like a charm. It then gives the option to set as ring tones.

fyi - i have been through 2 of these phones because of the messed up headset jack issue - (still can't get that to work). but, the first one i have saves the sounds to the ringtones area, and then the second one saved them to the sounds area and i can't get it to become a ringtone on that one. so, i know what you are talking about. no idea why the one worked and the other didn't. i'll keep checking this to see if you get an answer!

There are at least two different h/w&s/w versions of this phone. If you an earlier version, I've heard of BitPM and P2K Commander both working to xfer ringtones. People can also either text themselves (or via funmobile or similar sites) with an attached ringtones. Or you can xfer a ringtone to "My Sounds" via BlueTooth then text to a bogus number then save the attachment as a ringtone from the original text message.

If you have an OLDER version (like I do). Well, then your screwed on all accounts until someone comes up with a successful seem edit or BitPM/P2K Commander version that can hack into the phone's, Veriznot-manipulated, file structure.

🤭 "What was that you said before you opened your mouth?"

I got it to work!! And to correct myself, I have a NEWER *not* older phone version.

Loaded custom ringtones with the following:

- P2K Commander Version 4.9.E (NOT the current 5.something version)
- Motorola Driver version 3.4.0 (think I got it off the Verizon site, the moto site had 3.7 (downloads as "Handset_USB_Driver_32_v3[1].7.0" on the moto site),
- Motorola Software Update Version C01.11.36 (I DID get this one from the moto site)

Loaded ~20 or so MP3s, assigned 'em all to different contacts, still have ~21meg of free space left on the resident phone memory. Yay.

1.) Installed Handset_USB_Driver_32_v3.7.0
2.) Installed MSU and ran update (no updates avaialble)
3.) Leaving MSU running I opened P2kCommander-V4.9.E
4.) I say no to upgrade P2KCommander
5.) I see connect info of "USB P2k device found, phone connected"
6.) Look at drives to toose in Explorer window opened to see
- /a P2k phone system (star icon)
- /b P2k Phone tflash (help icon)
- /c P2k Phone user (help icon)
- /e P2k Phone user (help icon)
- P2k Phone seems (star icon)
