getting e mail from server

I am in the market for a phone/PDA and prefer to get a BB Curve. My company does not have a BB server and my IT guy told me I have to get a device with Window Mobile 6 due to our server.
The salesmen at Verizon told me as long as I have Outlook on my computer I can push corporate e mails to the BB Curve. Does anybody know who is right? Like I said I prefer to have a BB but I had to get my corporate e mails.

thanks,

The latest version of Microsoft Exchange Server has built in support for Windows Mobile devices - MS's way of getting around BlackBerry Enterprise Server. If you're on an Exchange Server configured to support Win Mobile devices you can't grab your mail on your BB. Your company would have to have a BB Enterprise Server in addition to the Exchange Server.
If you're using POP 3 mail, and not an Exchange Server, then you should be able to get your mail on a BB if you know your mail server settings - SMTP, POP3 Server names, user name and password.

Actually thats not true. You can grab content off Microsoft Exchange Server using a blackberry. If your company uses Outlook Web Access then your golden. All you have to do is set up your email like any pop3 account. BB will search for the correct OWA settings then will push the service book to your device. If BB does not find the settings you will have to enter them manually. Just follow the on screen instructions. It is fairly simple.

I didn't mention Outlook Web Access because most companies are now using RSA Tokens or some other authentication service to log onto to OWA. Since the 6 digit code on RSA tokens and similar security devices changes every minute or two, you're still going to be locked out. If you do use Outlook Web Access with a security token, you might as well use the browser to go to OWA and log in as though you were using a computer.
