Sprint or Verizon?: I might just stay on America's most reliable network

Two weeks ago I went into a Sprint store to check out the Blackberry Curve 8330 and maybe switch from Verizon to Sprint. However, they had no curves in stock. The sales representative took my name and number and said she would call me when they received a new shipment. I still haven't heard from that representative and probably never will so I decided to call Sprint customer service. After going through layers of menus I finally got a live person in a foreign country (choppy English, etc sounded like India) and she didn't understand what I wanted. Finally, she got it and put me on hold to find out. Next thing I know I hear clicks and I am listening to "if you want to make a call please hang up and dial again", disconnected. So I call back ag...

I was leary of Sprint because they seem to be having massive financial problems and have also laid off a bunch of employees. They are also looking to spin off their Nextel division. While I don't think they will go out of business, they do seem to be having some problems right now.

Just this last week I called several Verizon outlets and each of them had the Curve in stock. I also have never had a problem with the voice part of the phone (it has worked great). I had a minor problem provisioning the blackberry part but called customer service and they were very helpful and got the problem solved quickly.

FWIT, my experience with Verizon has been excellent.

a rough quarter is one thing. But sprint has been going down hill for prolly a year now. They totally botched a major merger and will prolly end up selling off some of their parts in the near future.

All companies dont go through major troubles...bad ones do 😎

My question is if Verizon is working fine for you why did you even have to 2nd guess them? Why look for a Sprint device if you're so satisfied with Verizon? I'm sick of Verizon customers that have their little noses in the air because of some darn survey that proved them to be better. Also this is America money talks, I wouldn't be suprised if those survey companies got paid off.

I looked because as I said earlier the simple everything plan for $99 is very enticing and would allow me to get rid of my home phone. However, based on previous experience with Sprint as well as what leading consumer magazines (consumer reports) as well as what others have said I'm a little leary on leaving Verizon and transfering to Sprint. Maybe I should have expected the typical responses here that Verizon supporters would say Sprint sucks and people like you MsSprint would believe Sprint was the third coming of Jesus. I wanted opinions from those who were not biased. However, I now believe that may not be possible to get here.

See here's where you have it twisted. I don't think Sprint is anything but a cell phone provider. You on the other hand expect these companies to be perfect.
Also think about it if you have an unlimited plan, why would you need to call or worry about customer service? Unless you're one of those people that download tons of things and magically forget that you did or lie about it.

When I have technical issues or when the phone breaks or something it does happen then what click "if you would like to make a call please hang and try again" disconnected. Or if they happen to mess up your bill and that does happen with Sprint. Maybe you are lost in the clouds. Please stop trying to believe that Sprint is the third coming of Jesus!!!!!!

You're finding EVERY excuse to call customer service, and for your information, if you get insurance you won't have any problems. You can just go to a technical store and they'll fix your phone. Messing up your bill on an unlimited plan hmm doubtful, what are they gonna charge you for going over your unlimited minutes? Before the 5GB thingie people with aircards seemed to never complain about overages. Infact those customers seemed to have the least complaints.

Why would you call customer service? What are they gonna magically reach through the phone and fix it for you? 😳
