New Post On Verizon

Verizon certainly seems to be getting close to releasing this. I was on Verizon website and did a search under 8330 and found a couple of entries on features of the Curve and how to adjust them. Not a release date, but close. Just as always Sales&Marketing have the final say on the release, but definitely a very welcome sign. Now the best overall network has one of the best phones for business/email users. Now just have to find out where or not it has the GPS chip in it and if there is software to utilize it. VZNavigator is certainly very useful and unique, but no replacement for GPS.

I keep hearing May 5th on phonescoop, but not from anyone directly linked to Verizon (that I know of). I'm hoping this is a sign that they either stick with that date or release it sooner!

Thanks for the update!

The customer service rep that I spoke with yesterday didn't know of the release date. She DID verify that Verizon would be getting the curve. I mentioned May 5th to her, but she didn't say yes or no.

I've been trying to get a date out of them too, but to no avail. The May 5th date I got was from phonescoop, so I don't know how reliable it is.

I talked to a rep a week or so ago. She told me there are a few phones coming out at the end of april. One is supposedly a new EnV and the other she said is the Curve. She could be wrong, who knows.

Verizon's BlackBerry Curve launches on May 9, too
by Chris Ziegler, posted Apr 30th 2008 at 6:15PM

Turns out the Glyde's gonna have to share the spotlight a bit when it launches early next month. The Curve 8330 has been confirmed by our sources for a May 9 release through Verizon's B2B, web, and telesales channels, followed by a May 12 launch in "all channels" (which we assume means you'll be able to walk into any old store and grab one). It'll go for $319.99 before $50 rebate on a two-year contract, ranging all the way up to $439.99 if you have no interest in signing your name on the dotted line. 'Course, Sprint told...

Verizon as you know does not like to give tentative release dates on phones. I was very surprised they told of the VZ Navigator update to version 4 which is quite nice and very improved. So back on point.....I heard the same exact release date. I have tried to get a release date out of Verizon for over a month since I found out for sure the Curve was coming after there 2008 CTIA show in Detroit. May 9 for Business to Business and Telesales and May 12 for retail locations. If this is not dead on then it will be shortly after. It has finally arrived.

I just went to the Verizon Wireless in Manhattan (34th Street) and they confirmed that it will be available in the store on May 12th.

As far as pricing it is $369 with NE2 plan. There is a $50 rebate bringing the cost down to $319. If you get the data plan there is a further $100 discount bringing the net cost down to $219.

The $50 rebate is applied to the $319, not $369. With a $100 NE2 credit, you should be able to get the phone for $170. This pricing has been confirmed by several online sources.

I was looking at the price on the screen and it specifically stated that the NE2 price was $369. Are you saying that there is a $50 in store discount + $50 rebate? I really hope that your right and the ultimate cost is $169 and not $219.
