Your enV² is clearly malfunctioning. I've had mine (and my wife has had her's) since April 2008 and we've never experienced such behavior.

I believe that your having dropped your phone is clearly the cause of your problem. Sounds like something may have broken loose internally. Have a technician look at it at your local Verizon store.
