How long til Get-It-Now has decent programs for the enV2?

I still have very few programs to choose from in Get-it-now or I guess Media Center. Will Verizon keep adding programs available on other phones to the enV2?

My gf has the first enV and has all sorts of neat things, like a song finder program to help find ring tones. Hold it to a speaker so it can hear the song, and it finds it and tells you the name and artist. Not available on my phone.

Even old programs that I had on my 8100 that I can't get on my new one. Like MyCast Weather that I had before. Loved that, thought it was much better then the only choice I have now - AccuWeather. Cheaper too.

I went to download all my games and apps. Only to find that 80% of them are not available! This is a true disappointment. I lost my Spanish translator, a game, and Mobile Banking®. I was able to reestablish my phone list with ease and I think/HOPE this is something that comes with a completely new model. I think this problem will go away with time. At least that is what I am telling myself now!

Have you looked under the Media Center for the applications? Most of the Get IT Now features are under different foldersnow, most in Media Center.

Of course I have looked in Media Center. That is the only way to down load applications.
I had to have Office Assistant® to load my phone book. Loading the contacts was so easy. I just am not sure whether I am going to be billed another $2.99 for downloading the application to this phone. I asked an on-line chat person and they said to contact customer service so I would not get billed. We’ll see!

Anyway, when I went on-line to look for my applications, I found 12 applications available for this phone. There were a total of 74 applications listed. That is about an 80% reduction in available applications.

There is now a 13th application available for download from the Verizon site for the env2. This one must have been the easiest one to adapt to this phone. Just think how long it will take to adapt the really complicated applications!?!

This is from the verizon site.

Sadly my gf has that app on her phone and uses it. 🙄

Anyway, things have gotten slightly better. I now have VCast Song ID and VZW Tones Deluxe 3.0, and those are the two I really wanted. Mobile IM was also upgraded and released for this phone. There's also been some games added, but many notables are still missing. My favorite weather program is still MIA. And many of my Media Center catagories are empty still.

Not really impressed with VZW's software rollout.

My most resent check of applications available for the env2 has found 7 new apps. Including a couple of weather apps that look nice.

On the Verizon Wireless site, select FETURES & DOWNLOADS then TOOLS & APPLICATIONS. Select your phone from the drop down list.

The Verizon site shows a total of 99 applications on 10 pages available for this phone! The problem is that 79 of these applications don’t exist! Also, 7 of the 10 pages are blank!

A little deceiving but I like to think big too!

I noticed that too looking at My Account earlier. Lots of programs listed, but not programs that I can even go to GIT and get.
