V06 is now available
Just thought I'd let all Dare owners know. Unfortunately, I do not know what the upgrade is supposed to improve. I upgraded from V05 to V06 Monday and haven't noticed anything different.

Did you do the over the air software update or take it to a store? I have version 5 and just checked the over the air software update, and it said that I am running the most current version.

It's a firmware upgrade which means a trip to the store. I checked back with the store tech and this upgrade is to "enhance the operation" of the phone - no fixes (per se). I still have not noticed any changes/improvements in the functionality of my phone.

I have a problem where typing a " in QWERTY mode will make a "i everytime. I wonder if it fixes this.

this error in typing actually occurs in the voyager as well. when you had your phone in QWERTY mode, you must have typed "i a time or too so now your phone takes that from memory and automatically enters the i because of it being previously entered (i hope that makes sense). my phone does that to me (i had a voyager that did it and now my dare does it as well) when i type a = sign it ends up being =) because i make the smiley face sign a lot while texting. ok, hope that helps. i am not sure how to fix the problem though, a guy in verizon reset my phone to erase the problem, but i don't know if it is worth resetting your phone every time this happens.

I recently got the firmware upgraded to V06, pretty much the only thing I've noticed is the touch screen is much more responsive.

how do u get this?? i think im gonna ignore my upgrade since i cant convince my dad to pay $30 more for the droid eris every month.its upgrade time but to my understanding this is gonna b a downgrade

updates are free. you would have to drop it off for a while though. It varies on phones, i got mine upgraded when V6 came out and it improved response.
