Just bought the DARE
Just replaced my Samsung SCH-U740, which I loved, on an impulse buy of the DARE. Great decision!! I absolutely love the phone, great functionality and features, lighter than I thought and a good sized phone. I've found call quality to be better than my Samsung on both ends of the line. I also like that the LG holds more text messages than the 50 I could store on the Samsung. Touch typing will take a little getting used to, and I see what a handful of you meant when mentioning a little difficulty scrolling through menus, I found that it'll sometimes select something instead of scroll but again, touch will take a little getting used to. Overall I'm very very pleased!

I went from a u740 also. I really liked that phone too. I had the original gold one and when I was due for a replacement, I went with the alias because I liked the half white number keys and there was really no other phone that excited me. Then with only 3 days left of my 30 day period the Dare came and I couldn't pass that one up! I really like the Dare. Anyway, all of this to say that I had the scrolling difficulty the first day or two but you'll get the feel for it and it will be much easier to do what you want.

The scrolling didn't work well for me at first cause I was used to the iPhone where you could just barely touch it and it would flow. I have noticed all you have to do is make is a solid press when scrolling, I don't mean push so hard to break the screen lol but a good contact scroll is all it takes down the middle. I didn't have good luck scrolling with my fingernail like some I saw try. I just use the end of my thumb. All I can say is give it a day or so to mess with it. Me and my wife bought one after switching from AT&T and we have never been happier with any other phone as much as we have the Dare. 2 days in and I've got scrolling nailed down! You're right it took a little time and a bit more of a solid press. I love this phone!!

i used to own the voyager. a real good friend has the glimmer. the dare's touch ability sh*ts all over it. if you really want to appreciate the phone, use the glimmer or voyager. the difference is huge
