Ringtones
I am having trouble with ringtone sound quality. It sounds good in my sounds but when I send it to the phone, it sounds muffled. Any suggestions? Thanks

Just put them on the 8gb card that should of came with it. I'm assuming you're trying to send them via mms....

I put them on the card in the my sounds folder. How do you set them as ringtones or save them as ringtones without sending them via mms?

I don't have one to try but I would assume, like on every other VZW phone, that you can't set them as ringtones from the my sounds folder.

I sent a sound from my sons phone and was able to save it as a ringtone,you can always send a sound to your self in a picture mesage and save it as a ringtone. sould work

download "cool edit pro 2.0" for free. (21 day trial) take ANY of your mp3s on your computer, cut them down to about 350kb then email them to the dare. they sound great and its free and easy and exactly what you want

Hey... having issues getting new ringtones! When I go through the Media Center and try to find new applications for them, it says they can't find any apps??? HELP!!!

The only way that I've found so far to upload ringtones at full quality without bitpim is to move your mp3 file to the "my sounds" folder of your phone through bluetooth or the memory card. Then picture message that sound from your phone to your own phone number. Once you receive the message set it as a ringtone. There is little to no quality loss at all.

yes i have the phone. i tried sending them via pic message off vzw.com but it wouldn't let me send an mp3 and when i converted them to wav the sound quality went down. This other way works the best.

There was a "take me out to the ballgame" ringtone that i wanted very badly on the new dare.
Saved it to the card in my sounds, inserted the card in the Dare, e-mailed it to itself and it had an option to save it as a ringtone🙂🙂
Did the same thing to a few more custom tones that i have............all worked 100%🙂

When I try to use Bitpim with my VX9700 Dare, I get an error message stating that the phone has been locked down by the carrier, how do I get around this error. FYI, I did set the model to the VX9100 and it still gave me this error message, I also tried numerous versions of Bitpim.... Thanks for any and all help!!

i paired my phone with my friends glimmer. i can view a list of his pics/flix/sounds and pull whatever i want from his phone to mine. imo, it is probably the least "locked down" bluetooth of any vzw phone, maybe any phone. it sounds more like a problem with bitpim

no, to be honest i dont really use bitpim. i have a friend who does. but i email all my ringtones. you can even email up to about 600 or 700k (i dont know how it works, but it works) and they sound clear and great

I read about this happening on one of the boards. It turned out the person was putting the ringtones into the wrong directory, it was like 10889/ringtones... and he was putting them in 10889 only. That may not be the direct spot but just giving you an example. He had to just turn his phone off and back on, reconnect and try again. I'm heading off to work right now but I'll research a little and post back what I came across if it helps any.
