I am getting my Dare today and want to know if anyone can recommend a good case. I have considered going with a screen protector, but how scratch-proof is the screen? I appreciate any advice or thoughts. thanks

I have the screen protectors from verizon. It took me about 15 tries to get the protector on without any dust under it. If you do get dust on the strip you have to wash it under water and then blast dry it with canned air and then reapply. Once you get it on it's worth it.

I dunno about scratch proof like the iPhone used to brag about, but for mine I bought the black silicone case with a screen protector. Those screen protectors are high quality from the Verizon store. I've had some before that were just peal and cut to your liking.. those sucked. These have a tab to hold the slip to line it up without getting finger prints all over it. It just went on so smooth I was impressed. I think they were 9.99 for 3 of them and a wipe cloth. As for the silicone case, I love the look of it but I have a couple of problems with it. First you can't really get to the charge port.. there's a hole for it but it just didn't work for me. So at night I take it out of the case and plug it up.. no big deal. The 2nd proble...

I got those same screen protectors. I have never touched my phone's screen. The protectors work great. I haven't decided on a case yet. If you go with the clear one, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts.

I purchased the Clear Hard Plastic case for my Dare that came out at the same time as the phone did from Verizon. I love the way it looks on the dare and if it falls I rather the faceplate gets ****ed up than my phone. I can allways buy another case. The only problem was that I had to eturn the case 3 times before I got one that actually locked on all four sides of the Cell phone. And then When I took it off to clean the inside of it since some dust had creeped in, When I tried to put it back on , it would not clasp on one of the cornors. So I could not use it anymore. Not sure if it's beacuse the plastic was to ridged and did not give leway to remove and put back on agian, but it was a waste of $12.99. I went through Daydeal.com and they ha...

I have the same setup as ^. Black Silicone cover and Screen Protector, got them for 15 bucks total (used my corporate discount). My only complaint, as already mentioned, is that I have to take the cover off anytime I want to charge the phone. Ive had no problems as lint sticking on nor have trouble taking out of my pant pockets.

fyi, Look carefully at your screen. Mine already had a screen protector installed. I purchased the additional screen protectors and have them for backup. I have had mine in use since June 27, and I have only a few slight scratches you have to stare to see. Also the screensaver pack from Verizon comes with a small micro cloth that I keep behind my slicone skin. Went to walmart and in the cell phone section They had a perfect fit horizontal leather flap case for 9.99 Last comment Incredible Phone!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. How necessary is a screen protector on this phone. I have kept the one on that came with the phone but does it impact the touch sensitivity much? I've heard some of the screen protectors have too much of a rubbery feel to them so if anyone can comment on that, id appreciate it. thanks

It depends on how necessary YOU feel the screen needs to be protected. I myself would like to have the screen scratch-free, or avoid any issues with the screen since the phone relies on "touch". I place my new screen protector right away and you can see that the screen is brighter and the phone response quicker (compared to when the phone had that cheap plastic cover on the screen).

$10 bucks for 3 at verizon store and they are made specifically for this phone...they work good

I would say that the screen protectors are pretty necessary. the one that came on my phone was flimsier than the ones sold by vzw. i have had a vzw one on my phone for over a month and its great. being a girl, the screen protector is NECESSARY!!!!! if you wear make-up, like foundation or even moisturizer, you don't want that getting on your phone. even the oils from your face.
also if you do a lot of web searching and your are dragging the screen around, it will probably scratch easily so the screen protector is great for that

i like the enclose universal magnetic flap cases we offer, as far as protection goes. but for folks that like clips and want quick access, there's a new holset that stores it face in we just got this past week. otherwise, for jean wearers... i'd go with the clear snap on, for the above mentioned lint gathering reasons. Be advised the clear snap on takes a bit of finagling (sp) to get to snap together, jsut lining up, not a big deal, but it's real secure once its on. can't wait till they let us employyees know when its avail to us

I bought the clear 2 piece snap on case verizon offers when I first got my dare. I had to take it back because, as someone else stated, one corner kept coming unsecured. When I got my second clear snap on case the verizon employee told me there was a problem with the first "batch" of cases. I have had the second case for 2 months and have been able to take it off & put it on with no problems. Also, the screen protectors are nice from VZW but I still have the one that came on the phone. ALSO, I got a leather PDA case that the dare will fit in with the case on it (for a BB pearl i think). That has also been a must have!
