Okay, 1st of all, no its not the best phone in history, but here is where you are wrong.
The Sprint phone you have was so cheep because A. You signed a contract, They own you.
B. When you try to get out of the contract, you have to pay $200-$250.00 cancellation fee.
C. I dont know about sprint, but i know every time i sign or renew my Verizon, they charge me $32.00 Thats an activation fee.
For Metro, you buy a phone from $49-$249.00 and included in that is the first month free, free activation, and no contracts. No late fees.
In short:
Sprint phones are cheap when you sign a contract, because they get their money back if you quit.
If you quit a metro, they don't take a hit because they didn't give you a free phone.
