Everyone keeps saying that the Instinct isn't a true PDA phone. Well, please tell me what exactly a PDA phone is, and let me know why the Instinct doesn't fit in that category.

In a sense a PDA is a personal handheld computer on the instint, you have a proprietary OS as opposed to Windows based operating systems, thus not allowing you to install apps such as Excel and Word, and not to mention everything else you can install on a PDA. Personally I felt deceived by the insticnt, number one the size and number two the OS, the browser isn't anything close to the iphone, this phone was supposed to save sprint not embarassam but that's exactly what it did.

Thanks...I have been on the fence about either swtching to the iphone or upgrading to the instinct. I am a heavy internet user though. So maybe it will be better for me to switch to AT&T

WANNAKNOW, if I may offer you some advice - if you're a "heavy internet user", and you're already a Sprint customer, and you're within Sprint's 3G coverage area...I would strongly suggest you do more research before you switch to AT&T. In my area (1 hour north of San Francisco, CA), AT&T's coverage for voice is far superior to Sprint's but, Sprint's 3G network is far superior to AT&T's. This is a fairly common scenario. So, if I were you I would compare 3G coverage maps of both carriers to ensure your device will be ale to take advantage of 3G speeds. A 3G iphone will do you little good if you're not inside the coverage area. Same is true with the Instinct.
In addition, know that both carriers are requiring their customers to enroll in a hi...

Thank you for taking the time out to respond. Your remarks were both helpful and very well said. I have been thinking the same. I don't truly need a hand-held computer...I just want more features on my phone. I think that the Iphone is "cheaper" out the door, but in the long run, I don't think that I will get my money's worth. (higher monthly costs) I think I was leaning more towards the iphone because of its popularity amongst people, but if I'm being honest, the instinct has the necessary things that I am looking to for everyday use. Thanks Again.....

Naytess -
Just in your opinion . . .
I currently have the Spring Mogul. I love the phone, but I'm having technical difficulties where some of my buttons on the keyboard don't work. I love the touch screen most of all. I am interested in the Instinct, which has the same functions as my Mogul other than the Office Products, which I don't use, but I is all touch screen . . .I think I am going to switch within the next week or so, do you think that's a good move? Plus, the Instinct is much more sleek and slim . . .

Hi "mobrownsuga4u"
Honestly, I don't know much about the Mogul, and haven't used it personally. If I'm not mistaken that's a Windows Mobile device probably running WM 5.0/6.0, am I right? The one thing I can say is that I've noticed a lot of people have made the mistake of assuming that the Instinct is a PDA/Windows device. However, it is not. I'm not sure how or why people are making this mistake but, if you're used to the functionality of the Mogul (depedning on what you use it for)...know that there's much you won't be able to do with the Instinct. However, on the other hand...there's quite a bit that you WILL be able to do that you couldn't with the Mogul, and maybe haven't noticed a need for yet that the Instinct will introduce you to....
