creating own ringers and watching Movies

Hiya, I got an 8GB SD card, and I wanna install my own ringers and transfer movies. I can't seem to find it anywhere in the manual. I've got Xingtone maker for making the ringtones, and Intervideo DVD for encoding movies.

I guess my main question is do I put the movie in MP4 format or 3GPP format?

Also where would the custom ringtones go?

ringers are stored on the memory of the phone, not the card. You would have to download the song as a ringtone for it to register that way. there are plenty of free sites that allow you to do this. Xingtone is currently not compatible with this phone.

Video should be in the "MEDIA" folder on the card, and encoded in .mp4.
You can load the videos into the Media Manager that comes with the phone on the CD, and it will convert the movie for you.

Thanks, I've been able to use Nero to encode MP4, but still wondering how I can transfer or DL custom ringers. I've got the ringers edited and everything, just need a method to get them onto the phone. Thanks in advance.

Are there any special limitations or anything for the video? My mom has an Instinct and I was trying to load some videos on to it. The only one I had was a South Park clip on my BB Curve. I transferred it to her computer, then to her memory card (the software wouldn't let me add music or video) and the Instinct couldn't even see it.

What's the best music format? It was playing .m4a, but it didn't show album art and the name was just a file name, not the nice name it's supposed to be. It also wouldn't pick it up using the Instinct software on the PC. It found a few mp3s around the computer, but not the m4as.

Sorry for asking such probably silly questions. I've done a bit of searching and can't seem to find anything. It's almost ...

For the movies you have to use the media manager that comes with the phone. There is an updated version out now. It automatically puts it into the form that your phone can use. Just using windows explorer to dump them into your media folder does not work. The music files should be in mp3 format. These you can move with windows explorer or media manager.
