i wouldnt jump to get this phone just yet.

number one the touch screen was TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
unresponsive.

#2 are those two dinky speakers on the head of the phone supposed to be stereo speakers?
because the sound was really LOW at maximum volume (and i was in the store when it was relatively quiet)

I need to be able to hear my phone when it rings (duh)
I mean it was really tooo low

These two quibbles in themselves are serious enough to scare me off or any cell phone buyer with common sense period.

This phone better receive some sort of update that makes the touch more responsive, AND that makes those "stereo speakers" live up to their potential. If you cant even hear your phone ring whats the F'ing point?

Caca...

touch screen issues can be resolved (mostly) by turning the sensitivity wwaay down.

As far as the speakers go...i feel its a bit lacking, but a software update can fix both the touchscreen issues and the speakers.

There is a workaround for the speakers, though. By using an audio editor, you can boost the gain on your .mp3 ringtone and then it will be much louder. +12gain seems to do the job right for my phone before it distorts too badly

I'm sorry for you. I did not like the env2 at all. Hopefully it will fair better with youl. Be wary of of the crackling speaker and the phone getting unlocked a lot, which subsequently made me make random phonecalls to people I wasn't aware of.

Those were my two biggest issues with the env2

The speaker doesn't crackle too much, but I do see what you are talking about.

The lock function on the env2 isn't as good as the one on the env2 ... and like you said, I've been making some random phone calls as you described. So yes, I am having the same issues.

I really wanted to keep the Glyde, I really did ... but I think those two issues with the env2 are worth it over the issues I have with the Glyde.

I'm glad the samsung is working for you though.

I had to return my Glyde after 24 hour. I am with you on it Tnt2k1. The screen was very unresponsive and well, there's not much to tell about the speaker. I also wanted to keep this phone but the none responsive screen killed it.

To anybody wanting this phone, I would wait till there's an update because you will end up returning it just like some of us did.
