Disable EVDO on phone

Has anyone figured out how to disable the EVDO feature on this phone? Don't need VCAST and just want to prolong battery life as much as possible. Thanks!

Open the phone, and click [OK]. Goto "Setting & Tools" and hit [#]. Enter 000000[OK]. Select "Field Test Menu" Then select "Pref Mode". Select "CDMA Only" and exit and you should be good to go.

This is the most common sense Q&A I have seen in awhile. Not everyone needs the EVDO function on their phones. It does cause decreased battery life and thus is unecessary unless you are a data-freak.
