Anyone that wants a good phone knows where to get it. And from the carrier isn't the place. So to all of us that buy unbranded phones, it doesn't matter what at&t sells, or what they do to their phones.

Anyone who wanted a shine would have bought it and probably sold it by now. Anyone seeing the shine for the first time when seeing it on at&t doesn't know **** about phones and the exact person the at&t shine is aimed at. The impulse buying idiot that wants a cool phone.

The majority wants free or very cheap phones. I doubt most of the public knows the difference between a 2mp and a 2mp schneider autofocus lens. Not worth the cost of the better lens when most won't even know the difference. And by removing the document viewer they get to save big money too. Not sure who makes the document viewer software for lg, but picsel makes it for samsung. Samsung probably pays picsel a small amount of money for each phone they put the software on.

The carriers just want to maximize their profits. Make it the most cost effective to manufacturer, then load it up with gimmicky software to make even more money. Ringtone, wallpaper, and game stores. Cellular tv, mobile email and IM.

Give them the cheapest phone we can make, but make them think its good. Then suck as much extra blood as possible after the sale. All you cheapskates that think you are getting a good deal are just getting screwed in the end.
