If the phone was completely dead before you put it on the charger, it typically takes about 5 minutes of charging before anything will even display on the screen . If it wasn't fully dead and it just stopped working, then it's time to warranty exchange the phone. Of course if there is physical/liquid damage they won't warranty it and it would explain the problem.
