Another set of first impressions

Haven't actually carried the phone yet, but I work for an AT&T authorized agent and have played with it a lot here in the store and here's what I've noticed:

Decent screen. iPhone's might be better but this one's very nice. Great for watching the MediaFlo TV.

MediaFlo is great! Plenty to watch for whatever you're wanting. Kid's shows, news sports, comedy and even a station that plays movies. The coverage might not be everywhere yet, but if you can get it it's very nice.

Touch Screen is good. I'll be honest, it didn't impress me as much as I hoped it would, but having the haptic feedback is a nice touch.

Menu system seemed, to me, to be very similar to the typical LG phone menu. That's a good thing though because, as much as I've ...

What do you think about the 3g iphone v the VU?
Would you shell out $300.00 for that?

The iPhone is just a "regular" phone? HA.

The iPhone is a smartphone by every definition. IMAP, POP3 and soon to have Exchange push, calendar and contact syncing, qwerty keyboard, and the ONLY device with a real web browser. On top of the smartphone functions, you've got a device that is second to none for music and video playback and will out perform the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP with the 3rd party apps being released next month.

With the continued rapid release of firmware and 3rd party applications, and upgrades in hardware, the iPhone will literally be a tablet PC you can carry in your pocket. You might want to reconsider what you think of as a regular phone. I can't think of many regular phones that can do all that.
