so i just got off the phone with verizon and they tlel me that i can take my CDMA phone to anywhere in the world and am able to talk and text from over there to the states as long as i purchase a plan and a fee of 9 cents per minute and recieving to. Can anyone verify that because i was told i need to purchase a world phone/global phone in order to be able to make calls and text.

No you cannot use your CDMA phone anywhere in the world you need to have a GSM/CDMA phone. I know because I used to have a CDMA only phone and it did not work in the UK because they are a GSM network.

It will however work anywhere that has a CDMA network....hope this helps....

It really depends where you are going.
