does this mean that people from other countries can text you and you can text them? becuase i have friends in the UK because i lived there for 3 months and i can't text them from here. and can i make calls from the us to the Uk? thanks

You can make calls to ANY phone, anywhere on earth, from any cellular or landline phone from the USA. That is, unless you may have requested your carrier to place a block on international calls.

you seem to know a lot about this stuff, the unlocked and locked stuff, is that like unlocked you can roam to other countries and make and recieve calls and locked is like only in the US area?

Here's a bit of reading for you. Of course it's written from the standpoint of a GSM (non-Verizon CDMA) user, but the new Z6c should work the same way on two of the four common GSM frequency bands.

If you are a Verizon customer it is my understanding that you need to add the global calling feature. Not really the plan just the feature. At least that is what I had to do before I could txt or call......

If you add the plan it is actually cheaper, but I suggest getting a calling card that is even cheaper yet.
