I atteneded a meeting with the Samsung Rep for the Mid-West Region and he told me that even though the A717 is indeed EOL (End of Life) the SLM is its own line

Samsung can say whatever they want, but a horse is a horse.
The A747 and A717 are almost exactly the same phone except for screen specs. If the A747 is part of "its own line", that's strictly in terms of marketing, not reality.

a747 is the replacement for the a717, at 1st we thought it would replace the a707 but samsung has a replacement for that coming out, so Rich is right.
