Samsung BlackJack II SGH-i617

I have bluetooth in my car (Acura), and my previous phone (LG VX-8300) worked great with it. The Blackjack works, but the volume is very, very low as compared to the voice prompts of the car system. It was echoing badly, but the upgrade to Windows 6.1 stopped that, but didn't help the volume. Has anybody else had this problem when using bluetooth with a car? It almost seems like the signal from the phone to the car is weak.
