Does anyone know of any good (and free) software to rip and convert DVDs to the correct format to view on the Pearl? I've tried both Superconverter and Blackberry Video. No matter what settings I'm using it still won't play after syncing to the device. Please advise.

If you aren't a cheapskate, buy media studio for blackberry v 1.3. I think I paid around $30 for it. Its worth it-it formats the video perfectly for either the 8830 or the Pearl. Very smooth playback, you will love it.

For the 8130, the best program is Mobiola Video Studio (DVD/YouTube Converter and File Manager). You can find it on handago.com. It's $15. It puts them in .3pg format which works great on the 8130. I have found nothing else that works as great as this. Very user friendly and easy to use. All you do is drag and drop it into the program and it puts it right on the phone in the correct format.

There is a trial download, that will give you 15 conversions to try it out. It's great. No hickups in the video, sound quality is great. You can drag and drop youtube videos right from youtube, right to your phone.
