Pix Messaging/Video messaging question

To those of you that have the device... Have you tried to send a picture or a video? Any success? My cousin has hers and is having issues sending either both. She can receive them but not send them.

Just wondering if anyone is having the same issues.

The problem is at the verizon. Dial #611 and pound the 0's Get an operator and have to look over the plan. Make sure you have a text and MMS plan besides the blackberry plan (as for the 29.99 one, thats all ya need.
I had the same problem cause I switched form the 8830 to the 8130. They never provisioned the MMS part because blackberries on VZ never had cameras.

She got the pix messaging working. I'm assuming that the video messaging won't work because she doesn't have a memory card. Only thing is that when I send her one she can't receive it on her end. I'm guessing VZW has to work out the kinks still.

I had the same problem with receiving mms messages, no problems with video though. also, in the web browser I had no "goto" option so I couldn't type in a web page of my own. I was limited to blackberry sites. Called vzw data/tech support, they had me do this:

home screen go to options
advanced options
host routing table
menu key
register now

then send a call and receive a call

and everything was fine! Hope this helps

Thanks. This did enable her second browser which is good but she is still having issues with receiving and sending video messages. I had her call tech support since I don't have mine yet and have not had the chance to play with it. I work for the company and they won't allow us to buy it yet. Feels like I'm being penalized for being an employee!

Oh well. Thanks for the input. Helped her out with one thing.

So have you been able to send or receive a 15 second video message from someone on the network?

I'm able to send a pic I take via email but not via MMS. With my 29.99 Blackberry plan should I also have this option?

Yes, you should be able to send it via MMS. My cousin can. She called into tech support b/c I guess it wasn't provisioned correctly. I would do that and see if you are able to send it via MMS. MMS should allow you to send both video and picture messages.

ok, this sounds a bit dumb, but I had the same problem yesterday after changing over to a select plan for the unlimited messaging. Tech support finally told me to take the battery out and do a "hard reset" of my 8130. Voila! I now can send all types of messages! Sometimes the simple fix is the right fix. Good luck, I sure am enjoying the new toy so far. The Verizon store at the mall just got the new leather case in for this phone and I picked one up. It has holes in all the roght places to access the features including the camera and the belt clip is very stiff to rotate, so the thing won't swing freely like some others I have tried on other phones. I prefer it to sit sideways along my belt, less intrusive to my spare tire!
