FRONT DISPLAY NO-SHOW!

I have a Samsung SGH T-439 and would love to know if anyone else is bugged by the fact that the front display cannot be activated by pressing any of the side buttons. I have to open and close the phone to view date/time. I was hoping this was a feature that I could turn on, but have not been able to figure out. I would assume this is a standard and obvious "flip" phone feature. Am I asking for too much? Help!!!

All you have to do to show the frontal display is to hold the side volume keys in...the time will display, along with the date in month/date/day format... 🙂

Thanks for your reply. I just realized that the keys must be held down for at least a second. I guess I needed to be a little more patient. Thanks again!https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_for um.php?fm=m&ff=1365&fi=1627367#

You're welcome...just out of curiosity, have you dowloaded any 'hi-fi'ringers from T-zones? (you are T-Mobile, right?)...My volume is extremely low for the ones I have downloaded, but I downloaded a 'megatone'--polyphonic ringtone (doorchimes) and the sound comes loud and clear...When I take the 'hi-fi' tones off and use the ringtones that come on the phone aleady, the sound is loud and clear as well...I also noticed when I call my cell, the hi-fi ringer is low when the phone is closed, but when phone is open and I call it and it rings the tones are loud and clear...Have you noticed anything similiar on your phone? Hmmmm... 😕
