Incoming SMS color in chat window.

I have the palm centro for verizon and for some reason i cant seem to change the text color for the incoming SMS in my chat window. I can change the color of the label for my text but the incoming text is always a light purple. It might be a simple fix but i cant seem to find how to change it. Any help?
