How can Opera Mini or Opera Mobile be used with the Centro? It's my understanding that Java is hard to find for Palm and that the Opera browsers are unstable on Palm.

the Blazer is by far more advanced when it comes to browsers. its so fast and responsive. why would you wanna change it anyway. if it aint broke, dont fix it. Opera is just an excuse nowadays. this is a solid phone and browser fresh out the box.

As far as I know, Blazer works best with WAP sites. It does not render HTML pages as you would view them with a desktop browser. Opera Mini does.

Blazer converts HTML sites for optimal viewing on the Centro. if you download the upgraded media player, you can actually go to ANY website and view any type of media. even windows formats. you can also change your settings on the phone to see the WHOLE website exactly how it is at a real computer, or you can view it in optimal form so you see it in a shrunk down fashion. Blazer has Oprea Mini beat by all means...

what is this and how do i install it??? i'm trying to play breakout from that palm freeware site? also wmv files that stream always give me a "insufficient bandwith" does tcpmp help this and is there any way to get this free anymore? also, is there anyway to re-order the "all" applications screen??? thank you so much for your help! 😳

a wise man once said, 'you get what you pay for'...

wmv files will always give you a problem. insuffecient bandwith, or invalid media type, or media not supported. you need the kimono player 4.6 or something like that. not only does it let you play ALL wmv files. audio and video. plus, it comes with mad free internet radio stations and a gang of other sh*t.

tcpmp is some bullsh*t. if you really wanna just beat the system, go to 'www.tinytube.net'. its awesome. they pull videos from like 13-14 diffrent websites and format all the videos for play on a cell phone. its PERFECT for the centro. they got myspace, youtube, and all kinda videos. they even got porn. but you gotta go to advanced search for that. only other way around it is buy ...

What is the meaning of life? Just kidding did you mention the questions had to be about the phone? I have a bluetooth wireless stereo headphone but cannot add to trusted devices list. It recognizes the device, I enter passcode and get bluetooth security message "unable to add to trusted devices list". Sprint may have wireless stereo profiles disabled. What can you tell me about this?

What's the deal with their pseudo-MMS, PictureMail. It completely screws things up with services like Mosio, among others. Plus when I try to send pics to friends without web capable phones, they can't view 'em. Is there any way I can just send a normal MMS like every other phone company?

This simply means you received and email. The email client defaults to vibrate. To add an alert or flash led indicator. Go to Settings, then preferences, alerts and make any changes you like for incoming notifications.

I just have one burning question! Can I set the phone so when I receive an incoming call, it does not interrupt songs playing (ie from a playlist). I want to be able to use the phone for music that is being output to speakers. Then when the playlist ends or I get near the phone, it will show the calls or texts that I missed.

Nope sorry. Option in player for everything but this would be nice tho. The only thing you can do is turn your phone off so incoming calls don't come in until your playlist is over.

flight mode prevents incoming calls, but also disables bluetooth. so the music will only play if the speakers are connected by a cable..

Usually the carrier email is better. I have the Sprint version. Versamail is kinda basic and to receive messages you have to do so manually. Sprint mobile email is more user friendly and the interface is more like a real email. It even displays battery life and call signal. Viewing attachments and adding email clients is easier as well. You can even auto receive emails, and fetch 300 emails per email account and store them unlimited. Also includes bluetooth indicator, time, and file manager.

My wife recently got a Centro on ebay. I downloaded and installed the firmware upgrade. I also set up her gmail account through Sprint Mobile App.

She wanted to wait until she got to work to transfer contacts from Outlook. She came home and I noticed she had been screwing with it and now she has gmail through Versa Mail AND the one through Sprint Mobile. I couldn't figure out how to delete the Versa account on the phone, so I deleted the Sprint Mobile one so there wouldn't be a possible conflict through the gmail system. Versa Mail is crappy and I'm ticked b/c she set it up (unknowingly).

Can she use Outlook to sync contacts without setting up Versa and continue using sprint's email?

Also, how in the bloody hell do you delete...

Hmmm Outlook I personally dont use outlook to sync contacts cant help you there, nomally I just beam my contacts from my previous phone over to the new one and vice versa. The palm software also sync's your contacts in seconds and keeps an archive of all the contacts you delete from your phone on your computer as a back up. To delete the gmail for versa all you need to do is open versa/ then hit the menu option next to alt on the keypad/ go over to accounts tab/ then down to account setup/ select the account/ then hit delete. But you can have both Versa and Sprint mobile setup and it wont cause any conflict with your email although Sprint's is a much better email client. 😎

Sounds like you have a bad one. Try hard reseting the phone. Do you have any third-party apps installed some of these can slow down your device. R u having trouble moving from different applicaition on the phone or just certain apps respond slow.

Another reason could be your memory is low. The centro has 68.8m of internal memory the more you have avaliable the faster the phone will respond.

Sync issues? What type of os do u have? Is it xp or vista? If vista you need to download the palm desktop update. The original does not work with vista. The update take about 2 min to download. The vista update does have some advantages, the sync speed is 3x faster then original and some cool features that shows exatly what is syncs and stores a log...

i have a 2g mem card that stores all of my photos and music... and i have downloaded games only from the sprint website to play...

also i have windows xp... i sync my phone regularly, about once a week... this is the 3rd centro that i've owned b/c the first one completely crashed on me and i lost everything...the second one i had was doing the same thing, so i just though about trying another phone and i didn't like it at all, so now i'm on my third one and it's doing the same thing as the first and second...

the majority of the problems that i'm having is when i'm texting a couple of people at the same time... other than that, switching to a different app is no problem unless i'm trying to view my email, in which case the phone comple...

I am new to Palm. Does the Centro sync with Outlook calendar? If not, is there a Palm calendar, and is it any good compared to Outlook?
...
DiamondPro

Nov 8, 2008, 6:28 PM
Not sure if it works with Outlook might test it sometime this week bc everyone seems to wonder. Anyway the Palm software does have a calender. In my opinion works better than Outlook in some ways. The Palm desktop includes a phonebook, calendar, video/pics, task, and quick install. The calendar syncs all entries from the calendar on your phone and make it easier to add new ones. It also has a cool layout that includes some better computer functions and you can set it to remind you of your events and appointments on your desktop. 😎
