Voice clarity....

The reviews that mentioned the voice clarity/compression issues were spot on. The Centro took a big step backwards in this all-important category..

Voice clarity is noticeably low, pitch range sounds flattened. Good chance mine will be returned b/c of this issue unfortunately. ☹️

Mine is excellent, except in places where ALL phones fail. Maybe you should try one more.

Well I tried another one in the Sprint store, and compared to the voice quality of the Blackberry 8830, it was quite a difference.

Perhaps I'm just a perfectionist, but I prefer voice quality as close to a landline as possible, and the Centro voice quality is definitely more compressed than other cell phones.

Everyone has their preferences. Have you considered the mogul?

Mogul is a bit too flashy & pricey. I'm eagerly anticipating the Moto Q9c out in Nov. Will most likely switch the Centro for it if it's reasonably priced.

Voice clarity isn't my only gripe with the Centro. Getting yahoo mail to work properly (with subfolders and push) is proving impossible, I've tried 3 different email clients and none work. I'm at wits end..

Sprint IM is also giving me issues (buddy list limited to 30 and unchangeable).

I think I would prefer WM6 vs the Palm OS. I do love the Centro's size and form factor though..

Despite my name, I like WM5 over 6. Before I came up with the name, when I had T-Mobile, I tried the Dash and Wing; both of which are WM6. While the Windows Live, the update of Pocket MSN was nice, and synchronized my phone numbers, the alarms and appointments would ring up to an hour earlier than expected, and would ring multiple times, which doean't occur in WM5 phones. The centro is only my second Palm phone. I have it as a second line, because it does what my Windows phone doesn't do (i.e. current emails, Sprint tv, call tones, ringers, 3gforfree, different colored backgrounds, takes 4gb cards, etc...)
