Give me reasons why 200 mhz is not enough for a cell phone? I am here to learn, not to criticize your opinion.

For a regular phone 200 mhz is plenty, but it is slow on a smartphone. Windows mobile is not very fast and coupling it with a slow processor does not help.
Other new smartphones are coming out with processors around 400 mhz (Blackjack 2, Q9h, etc), faster processors are better (along with more ram) especially if you are running mulitple programs. If you are browsing the web using wifi the connection can fun faster than the processor can render pages, so a faster processor helps.

The Downside to a faster processor is that it uses more power and that effects battery life.

Lastly the reason to offer a faster processor is to get people to upgrade from a Dash. I have been runing a Dash happily and see no benifit the shadow offers over t...

Granted a faster processor would be nice but for a phone like this its not need. Tmobile is trying to market this as a phone first with smartphone capabilities. Similar to what we did with the pearl only with windows mobile. Its made for the average user not the power user. So the average user would prefer the longer battery life.

Agree with what you said. I think HTC/T-mo have to make decion balancing power/battery/size/price and come up with reasonable products for most of their customers. I also think the power users are really in the minority, most customers like me just want a reliable device to reach and touch somebody. I have a powerful laptop, but the battery time sucks. that's my point.

The shadow is made for aline of HTC products exclusive to t-mobile, for customers who feel the Sidekick is to "young" for them....It gives you the smartphone feel with topscreen, and its not as huge as the wing or SK....Its the first of the Line, and is priced ver well...

that is exactly what T-Mobile and HTC are going for. if they put in a faster processor, I doubt they could offer the phone at only $150 with a 2 year agreement.

The average user would love this device..... well untill they figure out all the cool stuff you can do with a smartphone, try it, and then are disappointed becuase their processor is to slow.

I love to use my phone with Wifi and Skype (free VOIP calls) but you need at least 300mhz minimum processor.... then it is still a tad choppy. Yes you can overclock your processor, but then you eat up more battery and risk bricking your phone. Plus the pain in the butt of having to overclock it everytime before you start Skype.

The Wing was fine with 200mhz, it just didn't work in my home. The Mogul has 400mhz, but is slow at times; while my 700wx, with at 312mhz, is faster than any phone that I've used. The mhz on a phone doesn't mean everything.

This is true, the big thing is about the OS of the phone. I use the wing myself and flashed it with a non tmobile OS version and it runs alot faster. If its a crappy OS then the phone will run slow no matter how fast the processor is.

Agreed, When I got my Dash I had a Q. The Dash was noticeably faster than the Q even though the Q has a faster processor (312 mhz if i remember correctly)

If the Shadow had a qwerty keyboard I would consider it even with the same processor.
I will still go check one out to see what the menu overlay is like in person. I don't see the today screen in the video and that is a big down side for me, i like to be able to see my appointments on the home screen.
