This phone seems tight. I'd say since it lacks 3g that it will land with T-Mobile or a few different regional carriers, Suncom,Cincy Bell etc

T-Mobile will be most likely to pick this up. their sales with its 5300 xpressmusic hasn't been that great, since that phone looks like a plastic childs toy. the 5310 is a VAST improvement to te 5300.
I'm just hoping that T-mobile decides to pick up the 5610!

The 5610 is not compatible with T-Mobile upcoming 3G network. So I really doubt they will carry it.

T-Mobile's 3G network will use the 1700 and 2100 frequency's. This phone has two version with 3g data, one with 850 and 1900(U.S. ATT) and one with 850 and 2100(Europe).

I really doubt they would release a phone that is only compatible for half of their 2 billion dollar high speed network.

They could but I just doubt hey will

Here is the link to the wikipedia T-Mobile USA page. It talks about 3G in the third paragraph

First, no version of this phone has 3G whatsoever. You might be confusing it with the 5610.

Second, even a phone that has "WCDMA 2100" isn't compatible with "half" of T-Mobile's 3G network, it's compatible with zero.

What you've heard about T-Mobile's 3G spectrum being "1700 and 2100" isn't the whole story. Basically, 2100 is only the half where towers transmit to phones. 1700 MHz is the other half, where phones transmit to towers. In European 3G, that happens around 1900 MHz.

That means a pho...

Sorry! 🤭

A descriptive subject line is a good way to avoid such misunderstandings. 😉

Why? T-Mobile offers nothing but 2G phones now, and this is not a 3G phone.

When they do start to offer 3G phones, it won't be 100% of their lineup right out of the gate. They'll still offer new 2G phones like this for a while.

cellguy23, been trying to track you down. I'm guessing from your posts that you work with CinBell? If so, can you tell me of any phones you think they would likely be getting in the future? I've been looking to get a new one soon and right now the s500i is the only one that I somewhat like, though I would prefer a flip. If you know anything, I'd gladly appreciate info (especially concerning the Nokia 6555). Thanks.
