@Home Help!!!!

I am really wondering about this @Home WiFi. The phone works very well at TMobile Hotspots, but I have been try for five days to get my @Home set up and I can't get it to work consistently. I have tried three different wireless routers, two of which were purchased through TMO. Finally, TMO Customer Care told me to exchange the phone. I did that and I still can't get the phone to stay on UMA. When I am on a call it consistently switches back and forth between UMA and EDGE, and often times it will disconnect me. This was one of the major selling points for me. Anyone having the same issues or have had success solving this problem?

stupid question, but i have to ask: is your wi-fi router within 6-10 feet of a high def tv? t-moble told us few months ago that if the router was close to one it would effect the reception. 🙄 hope that its something that trivial

the router is in my home office with no TV within 30 feet. Does the Hi Def TV interfere if the router is in another room, but you are near a Hi Def Tv?

I am having the same problem. From all the reports I have been gathering. UMA is down in california. The problems is not with your routers, it's the problem with the tmobile servers and something also with the curve. This is a HUGE issue for me because I do not get cellular coverage in my house which is the reason why I bought this in the 1st place. I can't make a call without it dropping it within 1-10 secs.

Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I don't get it. So what's the difference between @Home and TMO Hotspots? The phone works flawlessly in TMO Hotspots. I was at the Hyatt this weekend and they have it in all the rooms. It never swtiched to EDGE.

By the way, I am also Razruzr. When I came up with that User name a couple years ago, I had a Razr.

Thanks,

All the settings are correct and mine connects without any problem to both the TMO router and my old router as well. Everything is great until I am on a call. On average, I get about 30 seconds into a call before it switches back to EDGE, then a minute later it will switch back to UMA It is supposed to switch seamlessly between EDGE and UMA, but most of the time it drops the call. It's really annoying to those people that I am on the phone with.

You should set the phone to have to stay on the UMA and make some calls. Just for a test period to see if it possibly is a connection issue that wants to drop the call or the phone handover itself. May help with troubleshooting if you happen to have to call Customer Care....

That really sucks about your experiance thus far tho 👀

Have you tried a factory reset? Ive done that and then NO back-up and it worked. Also you might need to download 2 certificates to make it work correctly.

From the BlackBerry Home screen, click on the Help Icon. The icon is a yellow question mark.
The Help menu is displayed. Click the first item “BlackBerry HELP web site”.
When prompted to launch the browser, click Yes.
The BlackBerry Help website will now launch.
Click on the “BlackBerry Curve HotSpot @Home (UMA) Troubleshooting” Link.
The HotSpot @Home Troubleshooting web site is displayed. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the certificates.
The customer will need to install 2 certificates.
The Root certificate
The Trust certificate...

HERE IS SOME HELPFUL HINTS I RECEIVED FROM MY TMOBILE REP. YOU CAN FOLLOW THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM TO GO DIRECTLY TO BLACKBERRY'S WEBSITE WITH THIS INFO.

If you restored data from a backup file that was created by another BlackBerry® smartphone model the necessary Wi-Fi® configuration settings for using T-Mobile Hotspot @Home are missing. Because of this you will be unable to connect to the T-Mobile HotSpot @Home service using your BlackBerry® Curve┞¢ 8320 smartphone.

Simply complete the following 4 tasks, listed below, to resolve this issue:
