Mobile 17 or Phonezoo?

Which of these is better? I have read a few threads about the availability of these but don't know much about them. They are free but just how reliable are they as far as not sharing your phone number with other companies. Seems like a good way to get even Itunes to work for ringtones.

ANyone that uses either of these, please give me any info. I am willing to purchase software to make ringtones but have not found anything out there.

Does Phonezoo ever send you text or anything that you didn't request? I have a friend who uses Mobile 17 and makes ringtones out of ITUNES which is why I was considering that one but I don't know if she gets any junk calls or text messages from them. Any thoughts??

I posted this also. I was wondering the same type of things. I don't like to give out my cell phone number to anybody other than friends/family for fear of getting unnecessary sales calls and things like that. Do these places like phone zoo and mobile 17 (although no one has yet to say that they use mobile 17) share your number and/or send junk messages once you use their service?

I have been using phonezoo for about a year now and mobile 17 from time to time, and no problems from either one. I love phonezoo as I make my own text tones from cellware.com and then put on phonezoo

Download the free program audacity (google it)

Use it to snip up to 30 seconds of any mp3 file you have that is not DRM'd

Export the clip as an mp3

Copy it to my sounds on your phone (easiest is with the included USB cable, a microsd chip installed and the phone in USB storage mode)

Select the clip in get it now, music and sounds, my sounds and text it to yourself.

When you get it, save it as a ringtone.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

All free.
