That does not sound like fun!

Please keep us posted as to the sequence of events with this situation. It would be very helpful in the understanding of the issue.

I had the phone in my pocket and took it out to make a phone call and that message was on the screen. I restarted the phone a few times, nothing. I sent an email to Verizon about it. I'm waiting for a response now.

It means the phone is broken, damaged or somehow messed up. Take the back off and the battery out. If you see pink (pink plus sign, or the label has turned pink) it means water damage. If not, and if taking the battery out and putting it back in again don't resolve the problem, it will probably have to go back to verizon.

Well, the plus signs are pink/purple, but the phone has been no where near water, so I don't see how that's possible =[ So, I'll be without a phone until I can get a ride to the store because I don't have a car...*tears*

Well, it got wet. You might want to see about adding the replacement warranty before you take it in. Water damage is not covered under warranty, and that's why they put those indicators in there.

You might have some damage done to your phone, but by the way that you described the water mark, it has not gone off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!đŸ˜ŗ .The water mark has the little x's on it and those are pinkish or purple. If the water mark went off then it would be ALL RED AND OBVIOUS!!!! From the way that you described your water mark, yours has not gone off. 😁 ! So, in that case, you would just contact verizon by calling *611 or you could go to a store and then if it is something that is wrong with the phone and NOT physical damage, then they will replace your phone for free!!! 🙄

An interesting theory, but mine has no pink or purple watermark x's at all. The labels are completely white as shipped. We'll see.

They are not completely white on an LG. If your's is completely white, you are the one with water damage.

They are completely white (with black lettering of course)on the voyager and turn pink to red when water damaged, with moisture indicators appearing. I discussed this with one of the verizon techs the last time I had my phone in for the firmware update. It's horrible the amount of misinformation that passes through here. You can check google images for photos of some of the water damage indicators.

And I can tell you what both of mine are straight out of the box. White with purple X's. Are you telling me that my BRAND NEW PHONES JUST REMOVED FROM THE BOX AND PLASTIC PACKAGING have water damage before even being touched by any customers? I would have to think you are incorrect.

I just checked all of my old LG's (none of which have ever been near water). Here are the results:
VX8000 - white with purple x's
VX8100 - white with purple x's
VX9800 - white with purple x's
enV - white with purple x's
Voyager #1 (3 weeks old) - white with purple x's
Voyager #2 (out of box for only 25 minutes) - white with purple x's

Are you telling me every one of these has water damage right out of the box? That wouldn't make any sense unless...

I think you are talking about the water dots. I'm talking about the label. Check it out on google images and relax.

Umm...yeah anyway. I'm back. I ended up taking the phone to the shop. The lady said the phone was shot. No water damage, nothing. It just stopped working. Something with the circuit board I think she said. ANYWAY. Yeah. I'm getting a new one in the mail. The end =]

I have to disagree with you. My phone has NEVER been wet and has purple on the water damage tape. My enV was the same way. AND my wife's Voyager just came in today and it had purple and white on the water damage tape. Since I have NEVER had a phone get water damage, I can't say this for sure, but I have to assume that on LG phones, the dotted water damage tape will turn 1 solid color if it is water damaged.

The voyager doesn't have a water damage tape. There are two circular dots, one in the phone compartment and one on the battery. They turn red if exposed to water or excessive moisture.

Yes, turn red, not get purple plus signs on them. White with purple x's is how they are shipped.
