text alerts
When my phone is closed and the touch pad is locked and I receive a text there is no sound. But when the touch pad is not locked it I get a text alert sound. Any help with this or am I the only one with this problem.

I just checked the reminder every two minutes and it will beep while the phone is closed and touch pad is locked. ???? Help!

mine works just fine, make sure your phone is not on silent.. or just try to change the tone.. tap the 4 blue dots, go to "settings and tools" go to "sounds settings" and then go to "master volume" and set it on high if this doesnt work then ...
MAKE SURE U TAP THE "SET" KEY!
if it still doesnt work go back to "sound settings" and go to "alert sounds" then "txt message" then try selecting a different tone(i also keep my "vibrate" on..
and again, if this fails..go to ur local verizon store and ask them for help, if they can fix it for u then tell them to give u a new phone..hahah

So I went to the Verizon store and they told me that it's a software glitch. On the mail settings there's an option that allows you to auto preview the text message. When that box is checked it does not give me an alert sound. When the auto preview is off it will alert me with a sound. There is actually about 15 software glitches that she mentioned to me, from shutting down for no reason to some how the phone will delete vz navigation. But she did mention about my problem. Ohh well. At least this phone can do OTA programming. Still a great phone!

One my VZ Nav does delete itself and when I try to get it now it says I have one already and ill get harged for a second
also i dont get a alert sound when i get a pic message .. im assuming its becasue I have it on auto download

She rambled off 15 of them. Just remember two. Call verizon on the vz navigation and the will make sure you are not charged for the 2nd installation. Good Luck

I have the same problem with my text alerts.
Works fine with touch pad unlock, and no alert with touch pad lock. Alert reminders work just fine. I've called verizon, and they told me to call LG directly, and I'm still waiting for them to get back with me.

Just turn off your auto preview and it should work till the have a software update. Hope that works for ya.

Ahh Haa. I couldnt figure it out for the life of me. Thank you very much. I turned off the auto text view only and there we have it. I was able to leave the pic one alone. I now get my text alerts. .....and this is why nomatter how stupid people are or the questions they as....WE HAVE PHONESCOOP.

No problem. 🙂 Wasn't easy to figure out. The verizon reps where useless. Hopefully they will fix this and the other problems soon.

I just turned my phone off of auto lock and the sound will beep on the read setting b/c it's no longer locked. I'll probably just lock the phone manually with the side button.

I called LG and told them about the problem. They said that they will document they problem. If you are having this problem please call them. The more complaints they get the quicker the fix. Thanks LG phone number for mobile support 1-800-793-8896
