Voyager - Outlook Calendar Sync

I have the new phone… looking good so far… Does anyone know how to set up the sync so I can have my outlook calendar?

I had a chat with a verizon online person who confirmed for me this was an option with the phone. I’m just wondering how due to the fact I can not find it in the manual.

Thank you!

I also wanted to add that the phone has PCsync and thought that was part of the outlook sync. Just needing some help. Thanks!!!!!

The "official" way would be to use the wireless sync via get in now on the phone. It will sync your calander and contacts w/ your outlook calander as well as push emails to the phone. Its 19.99 per month...hope that helps 😁

If you haven't figured it out yet... you can send individual vCards over bluetooth, after exporting them to a file. I haven't figured how to transfer my calendar info yet though. Particularly since I use a mac. Good luck to ya.

Thanks, I like the voyager phone but have been thinking about giving it back. I have not found an acceptable solution yet. I might go with a simple pda / palm to keep my schedule and then keep the phone or I have my 30 days to give it back. Thanks again for your tips. -sh

If you need these features I would give the phone back. My salesperson was reasonably honest and said flat out that the phone won;t sub for a PDA and that if you need contact and calendar synch this isn't for you. It is one of the primary reasons I have decided not to buy it. VZW's wireless synch is notoriously buggy and $20 per month... a screw job if you ask me.

Thank you, I am on the same page so I went to the VZ store to check out other options and did not find a solution that would work for my style. I found the smartphones but did not say to myself "wow" this is the phone for me.

So I would like your thoughts on this... I'm thinking about doing a pure pda (no phone) keeping the VZ phone. Where we live VZ has the best network for coverage etc. But I have not found a site like this for pda's... Do you know one?

And I did find a pda called "mypal a626" from dell for 299.00 new. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Use Google calendar. You can two-way autosync between outlook calendar and google calendar painlessly and seamlessly a couple of different ways. When everything is available on the google calendar page, you have a lot of options. Google supports sms texting for appointment reminders as well as text message uploads for new appointments. These will sync to outlook automatically. You can get at your calendar from any web device (including the voyager browser and the mobile goole page), and that's better for most people than being stuck with a microsoft only solution.

Yeah, and then you get the awesome added bonus feature of Google searching, indexing and then selling the content of every one of your calendar items to the highest-bidding advertiser. Go Google.

Both calendars and calendar items can be flagged public or private. There are reasons to share some calendars and events, and obviously, reasons to keep some of them private. If and when Google decides that my calandars or anthing else can't be flagged private, I'll reconsider. If you're not sure how to assure that your public items are public and your private items are private, there are a number of faqs and a help forum. But really, it's pretty simple, as private as you need it to be, and very simple. The integration of the sms text capabilities with phones like voyager are icing on the cake. And as I explained, there are methods for syncing Google and Outlook for the best of both worlds.

re: pure pda. If you have and/or like a full featured pda, don't forget that the voyager (and a number of other phones) can be used to tether. That is, the phone can connect via usb or bluetooth and act as a modem for the pda, assuming your system adminstrators have properly set up access to the exchange server (which many have not). This has been a preferred solution for a few years. I remember hitting the San Diego livecam on an IPAQ tethered to a Siemens phone as long ago as 2001. The PDA phones attempt to integrate this functionality, but IPAQs (and some of the other PDAs) are great device in and of themselves, and the PDA phones don't completely replicate the functionality. So, an alternative is to get the phone you like because it's fu...

Highlight the calendar event in outlook, then file | Send to Bluetooth (assuming you have bluetooth set up). Otherwise, look for the final release of bitpim (www.bitpim.org) which has released initial support of the voyager this week.

Or, sync your outlook calendar with a google calendar via a funambol server (see www.scheduleworld.com for a free service) and have the google calendar sms you with reminders. You can also look at your google calendar using the browser at google mobile (see http://www.google.com/xhtml).

Don't forget that if you are on outlook through an exchange server, you probably can get to mobile outlook web access (M-OWA); check with your sysadmin.

Workaround????????
To sync your outlook calender you click one button and send through bluetooth. it takes a second and was designed to work this way..not a work around.

Just to point out something the bluetooth through your iphone will not sync your calender because it is headset only(and doesn't even support stereo headset on that note)

You can use the Verizon Wireless PhoneManager software and directly sync via USB cable with Microsoft Outlook.

The verizon wireless phonemanager software is phone specific and I don't it see available for the voyager or similar phones. Can you point to a source for it?
