What I love about Verizon Reps...

(Myself Included) as soon as we get any info, we go blabbing it everwhere, whether it's right or wrong, and we refuse to be told we're wrong. For example, the gentleman who posted earlier who swears up and down the voyager does not need a nationwide plan, or the poster who claims you need the full $44.99 data package for the voyager. I love reading these posts cuz no matter what info a rep posts, no matter how many people have valid info to refute the original comment, the rep is always right. It's no wonder why people have misconstrued thoughts of vzw employees.

Another prime example, when the i760 was released, I had a customer who wanted it solely for wi-fi use. Before purchasing from me (indirect) he had been to a corporate locatio...

The craziest thing a Verizon rep (corporate, mind you) told me was that "BlackBerry runs on Windows Mobile 6"

I looked at him like he was an idiot and kindly continued playing with the phone.

Who trains these people? Jeez! 😳

It's very unfortunate everything posted here. It is true some reps don't know exactly what the talk about cuz some reps don't know squat about phones, even after training.
on the other hand some reps are just trying to make money (hello!! commission.) so they'll tell you things like you need data with all pdas. not true only on the blackberry.
So i always recommend to check phones out @ websites like this to get some info first

You must be that moron I spoke to at the Verizon store...I am shocked that natural selection hasn't eliminated you from Earth yet.

If you are not that moron, you sound like a perfect fit for a VZW sales job...go get em!

Did it ever occur to anyone that it's possible the person who made the original comment about the Blackberry and Windows Mobile 6 misunderstood what was being said. Blackberry's do run on Windows Mobile 6... that is if you have a Windows Mobile 6 device you can download and install the Blackberry Email client and use a BES server.

Forums such as this are meant to clear up misunderstandings and post useful information, not bash each other and take away from the image.

Too bad it will never end, it will always be ATT is better than Verizon, Verizon is better than ATT, The IPhone is the best and the Voyager sucks or vice versa. I used to use this site all the time for actual information to stay current or ahead of the curve in the indus...

I am an indirect manager as well and I concurr with you, It amazes me that the "REPS" are so informed that they, for example were telling some of my customers thqat they could give them new phones if they turned in the ones they just got from us, so they gave the customers new phones, but only did and ESN swap and gave them the phones for free, nopw I tell you that VZW store will be open for a long, long time!! NOT!!!!!! Well, stay strong and keep letting the VZW Coprorate Employees keep giving the customers, what they want, the farthest thing from accurate truth.

As a corprate rep I REALY resent that comment. How can you say that corp reps dont know as much as an indirect agent? The inderects in my town are ALWAYS giving customers wrong info ESPECIALY thoes that make you sign 2 contrats. One with the store and one with Verizon. I cant count the number of times whent people have been burned because they used more then 30 min on there phones and have been told they cant return or exchange it even though there in there 30 days and get direct to my CORP store....

And as far as knowing about the products...it comes down to how much a person is willing to study on there craft and NOT where thye work at. I've worked for and indirect agent for 3yrs and 4yrs in a Corp store and I can tell you 1st hand th...

Unfortunately, some reps do not sell with integrity like they are supposed too. I used to be an agent with Cingular, and we ran into some of the same problems. Unfortunately, IQ tests are not a requirement of employment. I do not let my employees pull some of the same stuff that you guys have been describing. However, on that note, unfortunately agents can do some of the same things that corporate employees do to make commission, especially due to normally lower base pay. I have been on both sides, and seen both situations. Good luck selling the amazing new phone to all, corporate and agent. We are all on the same team.

I guess the store I work for and th eother eight of them are different in that we do not get paid commission at any level, so there is not incentive to be untruthful.

Commission shouldn't be an incentive to lie to a customer...Do these employees value VZW as a company or understand future impact?

There should be a connection that lying to a customer today may result in increased commission today, but hurtful in the long run to both VZW and their wallets.

Also, I have met plenty of talented VZW sales reps who actually know what they are talking about, so not everyone is a bonehead. It's a shame that the boneheads end up becoming poster boys for the company.

The rep probably didnt want to waste his time with some "non-pay" customer who wants to bust his chops about wi-fi enabled devices. I would have told him the same thing, or better yet tell him there is a better model coming out in another month or two. Just get him out of the store.
